@Maggie Renee As a (amateur) metal vocalist, the specific scream technique is called a tunnel throat scream. Basically, a false vocal chord high scream, but the positioning of your tongue opens up your whole mouth and throat, so there is no air pinching at all. It's high energy but also uses a lot of air, and if done incorrectly will destroy your voice in about 10 seconds and will hurt really bad.

Check out Alex Terrible's vocals on "DEMOLISHER" by Slaughter to Prevail if you want to see just how insanely talented and technical some "screaming" can be!

Ronnies voice is amazing how he can go from the rapping to singing to screaming all with in a instant. Also the music videos are always insane like a limitless budget and story telling. And i love how he has his daughter in a lot of his videos as his anchor back to reality

I really appreciate that Ronnie is willing to put so much of himself into his songs and videos. His honesty and emotional connection really show in his performance. As a person that has struggled with depression for years this song and video are extremely cathartic.

It helped to pull me out. If you like Eminem, but like the “darker” lyrics.. check out “nf - the search “ or even “clouds” by him. He’s very skilled :) Thank you for the reaction. Good job 👍🏼

It's more of a scream. If you want to hear good growling, I suggest "Opeth". Their lead singer has excellent clean vocals, but he also has the best low growls. Great reaction, thank you, Maggie!

In reference to 5:07 Screamo is a portmanteau of "Screaming Emo." Emo is a style of pop punk that focuses on emotions, especially depression and unrequited love. In most hardcore and metal sub genres there are three main types of vocals, the clean voice, the growl or low guttural sound, and the scream, the higher vocal fry technique. So, the question, instead of "screamo or growling," should be "screaming or growling," and the **rawr rawr rawr rawr** part was layered. It was both a scream and growl, both from Ronnie (the lead singer, played over top of each other. Love you, love the channel, and I hope this helps!

So, here I am: As soon as possible 🤘 I really liked your reaction to this awesome song, which is already for some time in my playlists and again and again on (literally) heavy rotation. Your „ouch“ was the first time I heard it someone say at this moment. But hey: That was indeed really ouch 😉 I feel so much connected to this song because of Ronnies incredible way of showing his darkest areas and also because of the lyrics. Being depressive myself for decades by now, like many other creatives I know, the message hits deep: I just wann feel OK.

Ronnie uses really good technique build up false chord screaming and belting grunts :) Dont try this from the get go without proper training it will cause vocal damage!

I think because of the heaviness and the way the music is during the screaming part near the end it's really just metal. Screamo has more punk-ish elements, like The Used or Thursday.

I keep seeing things about depression, and I agree. But not much has been said about PTSD and Rage. IMO, this video encapsulates all of it. The 'falling into love now with falling apart' in an angry way, the eventual trip to trigger the rage and then when it hits, an almost gleeful "Here we go again MFer", followed by the werewolf scene of devastation. Then the little girl (innocence), after the rage dissipates and you realize what you've done.

I prevail is another great band gasoline and or hurricane would be highly suggested. Or their is they very deep song from parkway drive.

This is one of my favorite songs of all time and it's Falling In Reverse's most popular one. Falling In Reverse is one of those epic bands just like Jinjer.. But they can probably be most compared to Linkin Park. If you haven't heard them, you should check them out as well, start of with "In The End" 😊 To answer you question, in my opinion, scream is the upper register of vocal fry, while growling is the lower register....Tati from Jinjer does both in Pisces, at the very end of the song, she says "Emeralds are ripped away" four times, the first three I define as growling, the fourth as screaming since you can clearly hear the register being higher....

You should listen to Chester Bennington cover of Rolling in the Deep by Adele. Chester has been a major influence in the music genre, and he really hits home on this song :) Rest in Peace Chester

Gonna say this song describes PTSD and those of us who suffer perfectly. The criminal justice system just wants to make us criminals but me and my brothers fought and bled for our country to be misunderstood here. We know kill or be killed and survival and they think we can just be civilized when we come home? We want love but still live with the death of our past. This song speaks to me “searching for your god in the lost and found”. Ronnie gets it.
