Thanks so much for showing how to do this. I heard a clunk when using it and knew something was wrong but didn't know how to open it up. One of my gears fell off. I was cutting for a card class so I had to get it fixed right away. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

the old one was definitely harder. glad you found the video useful!

When you fold down the platform you will need to remove two short machine bolts beneath the metal name plate (two on each side), but you only need to remove the ones on the same side as the rubber plugs (the correct name for the "gaskets"). The name plates are glued on - it is a little tricky to pry off without scratching, but can be done.

Wish I had read your comment before I took mine apart

hey thanks , i lost a little die in there and the rattling drove me crazy. My mini didn't open all the way (I didn't force it) but the die was hanging out and i could grab it. fixed! I do feel a hole through the logo sticker, must be another screw under there. thanks again!!!

I do believe you failed to mention about the two screws hiding behind the Stampin Up logo plate. Because my machine would not come apart. Maybe I have to order a new one. It’s looking for help on how to fix it. Thanks anyway.

I would try again to take it apart before ordering a new one, unless it's still under warranty. Do you know when you bought it? Stampin' Up! is pretty good about the warranty.

We can’t pull it apart. I think my machine is attached under the logo badges. Wondering if they changed the assembly?

hmm, I wonder if they did. I have had several people tell me that they were able to take theirs apart and were amazed at how much was inside :) but one other person said they could not. Mine came apart fairly easily.

@@BethRush I just took mine apart for the same reason, we had to pry it apart because yes, there are 2 screws behind the logo plate that go through the plastic frame to also hold the 2 sides together. Mine now does not have those 2 screws holding it together, but doesn't seem to make a difference. End result is if yours doesn't open as easy as hers does in the video, you have to remove the logo plate to get to 2 more screws to be removed.

I heated up my su plate with my heatgun to soften the glue to remove the plate to reveal the 2 other screws

Annoyed that I did not read the comments all the way through before we broke off the plastic that screwed in behind the badge. It seems to be working okay.

they must be a little different with how put together they are. mine came apart so easily, and many have said the same. but then some say they can't get them apart at all.
