Wonder why MGM and Warner did not include footage from The Terminator and RoboCop on that 75th anniversary promo for MGM? They had Silence of The Lambs and Dances With Wolves!

That's because at the time, Orion was still a fresh acquisition at MGM so they have it part of the montage right away.

I also have the 1985 VHS of this, and it has 2 tapes in a box, and the LP of the soundtrack, and it was a film that caused controversy at the time. The movie was originally shown on HBO Max (now Max) back in 2020, but it got removed due to a black character which was considered racist. And after a month of removing from Max, the movie has brought back with a long introduction on the film, and it’s still a “Product of its time”.

The 1990s was a bad time for MGM financially, at the same time, it was MGM at its film library peak - it had everything, from its original pre-1986 films to the pre-1950 Warner titles to the post-1952 UA catalogue up to its new acquisitions from Orion and what have you. Such as shame half of is no longer there.
