Funny to hear how they were unsure how the movie will resonate with kids when it just came out, when now it is an absolute fact that the movie has made the childhoods of an entire generation!

I saw this on my 9th birthday with my family including my 4-year-old brother. Of course we were scared, but we were engrossed. Afterwards, while waiting the many months for the VHS to come out, we asked for the toys and video games and everything else. I just saw the movie again as one of those live orchestra screenings with about 20 thousand other fans. It was a truly wonderful experience. I love this movie!

2:10 I had that Jurassic Park poster as a kid. The one with the T-Rex standing in front of the JP gate. I was obsessed with this movie at the time. It kept me on the edge of my seat for sure, but it was a helluva ride for a 9 year old. It's one of my all-time favorite cinematic experiences.

This movie did not flop. The merchandise sold in the millions. The film was perfect. The concerns were irrelevant. This is the greatest film ever made and when people saw the first brachiosaurus and heard the music crafted by John Williams during that scene locked this film in as one of the single greatest to ever hit the big screen. It also is the greatest performance by one of the greatest actors of all time, Sam Neill. This movie earned every once of praise it received, it’s a 10/10 film in every possible way. Welcome, to Jurassic Park.

For 10 years, STAR WARS was a game changer for The Filming Industry. And Now Jurassic Park is here to take its place. This movie really beat STAR WARS off it’s peak. Not saying this to be offensive but it really did. The money it made, outnumbers and his higher than The money That STAR WARS made.

Well to be fair, I think a properly done dino movie can still be a horror film like Jurassic Park, but the problem is exactly what we saw in this news piece. Adults liked the movie for its grown-up nature, but kids really really wanted a dinosaur movie. So the Lost World and all the Jurassic movies that followed chose to go more of an action/adventure feel, rather than a scary thriller/horror. And that was a good business decision in terms of marketing and selling merchandise. But I think if done right, another dinosaur horror film could be made.
