Indeed! Was 12/13 years old I think, at the time this came in the cinema's, and we went with a group of friends together. New friends, since we were in first year of high school. What an experience! Some movies, you have to experience as a child/teen, to really feel the 'magic' of it. So different from all the dinosaurs movies before it.

Joe Mazello's portrayal of Eugene Sledge in the Pacific was Oscar worthy IMO. He is an under appreciated talent in the industry. The PTSD scenes with him in the last episode were super powerful. As a veteran, I really appreciated his performance. To see him come from this kid in Jurassic Park to now, is amazing. He deserves more opportunities.

I'm not a vet, but the hunting scene with his dad after he returns hit me so hard. It encapsulated the struggle to return to civilian life that millions of service-members had, and it still brings me sorrow that a large portion of them had to put it all in a box inside, never to be shared or spoken of. So many stories and experiences forgotten, lost to the ravages of time.

JP sparked a lifelong interest in dinosaurs and I can't believe we're three decades after its release.

That is the experience of 99% of people in this industry. Most people are in it for the passion and craft. Very few people get swept up in the fame and money. Be aware that productions, even for the giant blockbusters, are comprised of tens of thousands of workers. Just becasue one or two actors/actresses became an egomaniac, doesn't mean that is the case for everyone else. Be aware that the media you listen to sells stories, so they only focus on the rare events and drama that occurs. Which almost never conveys the actual event or experience that others had.

@@evolicious Well, let’s see. I first went on stage when I was 6 years old. I’ve been in front of countless cameras, and I know that the industry does nothing to discourage bad behavior among the people who have top credits. Are there thousands of people who want to do a great job and are passionate about the craft? Absolutely. However, if young people were not at great risk by being a part of the industry, Paul Peterson would never have had to start “a minor consideration.” That’s why I am so glad that these two kids did not get ground up and spit out.

theres a reasonable explanation for that. seemingly how neglegant, narcosisstic & at every single cut corner, how incompatent Hammond was, even prior to his introduction on screne. Dont forget that the only reason they were on the island in the first place, was because a trained professional surrounded by other trained professionals with weapons. And the recource that John elected to do? "Oh lemme bribe some unsuspecting ppl to come here! And some kids! During a natural disaster." Imagine the PTSD tim must have. If being turned into a tim-nata by a Trex, or human piece of toast wasnt enough a reason to use lethal force on the same RAPTOR from beginning, wth are they for?!! and Lex proving even she is more qualified to operate the park than john. I mean, finding out that he lied about the animals being able to breed in captivity is pretty colossal size wedge b/w someone uThought uCould trust, into a person we NEVER SEE them interact with ever again. Not even in the sequel.

When I first saw JP when I was 8 years old, I cried during the scene where Dr. Alan was moved by seeing dinosaurs for the first time. I had the illusion that there were real dinosaurs.🦕 Even as a child, I knew that the CG I had seen before was fake, but I didn't know that the scene was CG at the time. And the scene where Rex and Tim run away made me nervous even then. Even now, I watch the scenes where they run away from the T-Rex and the Raptor in the kitchen with a sense of excitement, even though I know the outcome. I was annoyed at Rex who didn't listen to Tim and waved his flashlight around, and at Tim who didn't jump off the barbed wire. 😂 Now 30 years later, the JP series will always be my favorite movie series, but my favorite is still the JP first with you guys in action. Since Dr. Alan, Ellie, and Malcolm all appeared in the final series of JW, I thought that Rex and Tim would naturally appear in some way without going to the island (like Ellie helping Dr. Alan from off the island with a call in JP3), and I was disappointed in the movie theater when they didn't appear in any way. If there is still a sequel to the JP/JW series, I would love to see Rex and Tim in it again. Congratulations on JP's 30th anniversary. With love from Japan.🇯🇵🦖

Jurassic Park was the first “grown up” movie I actually remember seeing at the cinema, I was only 7 years old at the time, and I remember my parents paid for the super comfy expensive chairs, and I remember hiding when the velociraptors came on! They scared me so much! But now, one of my favourite films ever 🦖🦕 You two were so great! And like you say, icon scenes!

I was also 7 and was just told that we were going to see a dinosaur movie. My older cousin wanted to sit in the front row and I went with him. The T-Rex scene just about ended me. I had nightmares about it busting through the wall and raptors roaming our halls at night only to watch my VHS after school and repeat it all again. 😂

I was 10, saw it 3 times in theaters, and each time had to shut my eyes during the kitchen scene. Even though I knew they made it out okay it was just WAY too intense for me.

They really do have great sibling energy, and it's fun to watch them reminisce about filming one of my favorite movies. It really makes it seem like not including them in the Jurassic World films was one of many missteps the franchise made. Mazzello was excellent in The Pacific, so he'd still be more than capable of handling the acting and the action. I know Richards doesn't act too much anymore, but even if she could be convinced to do another cameo it would have been so much more meaningful than bringing back Lewis Dodgson. Their characters would definitely fit into the world more organically than either the new main characters or even the rest of the original JP cast.

Finally those who never realized the actor portraying Eugene Sledge was the kid from Jurassic Park. I remember the 1st time i saw Band of Brothers, his eyes gave it away. I remember telling my wife, he looked so familiar. Of course i looked him up online and found out right away why he looked familiar. Now everyone knows lol. So a underrated actor!!!!! Hes a legend in my book!

This is one of my favorite movies. I watched this over and over when it first came out. It so cool to see Timmie and Lex and them doing commentary is awesome. One of my favorite scenes was when they were on a field and they ended up running from a herd and he said so much blood or something like that when a dinosaur got caught by T-Rex.

So cool to see these two together! I'm a life long fan of the original film and I remember the very first time I ever got to see it on VHS, mum was reluctant to let me watch it but I managed to get to the scene of nedry being gooed by the Dilophosaurus screaming at him and that's what did young me in 😂 haha! After a short break we continued watching and I remember being utter utterly taken away by the movie. Mr Spielberg has been an inspiration to me also, I remember reading about him trying to make his way in his early career and all the setbacks. I recall reading about his determination and perseverance and look at where it got him, I've done my best to do the same for my own career, to be passionate about what I do, to work hard at what I do but most importantly, to love and be proud of what I do.

I was 6 years old when this film released, and probably 8 when I watched it the first time. There was nothing I wanted more in life than to be like Tim Murphy. He was smart, funny, brave, and knew all about dinosaurs - what more could a young boy aspire to be? So much of that was down to Joe Mazello's performance. So fun to see he and Ariana reminisce here.
