In this video I demonstrate how to open a wax casted figure from a silicon mold. This is the molds "first cast", which is when a mold has only been casted one time, in which the sculptor learns how this particular shape needs to be opened. At times, depending on the sculpture, I refer to this part of the process as a "test cast", in the case that a second cast might be needed.
