I remember being 7 years old on a thursday morning. It's 7am, and my mom is dropping me off at the YMCA, we stop by the local bagel shop right next to the news stand that has pokemon packs for sale. I ask my mom if i can have a pack of pokemon cards, and she sighs and says yes. I open my pack of fossil 1st edition while i eat my muffin at the ymca and i pull a dragonite. I think to myself, "what is he eating? is he eating a muffin too?"

I can smell those new fresh cards through my screen

That’s awesome you pulled that, what truly blows my mind, Gen 1 and Gen 2 were so much different if it wasn’t for cartridge limits the games would have been longer.

I remember this booster box very well because I got it for my friend when we were 7 years old. That birthday party ended up with me getting picked up by my dad on the freeway because the other kid's dad who was driving us got pulled over and arrested for DWI and popping pills of some kind. Good times.

What an absolute treat! Thank you so much for doing these vids, and for your knowledge and enthusiasm for the cards therein. Really takes me back. I remember my Mom would buy these packs for me and then require me to do chores in order to claim the cards individually XD Turns out that was a pretty good method to get your kids to do chores, however she had to learn over time that I only wanted the rares and would ditch the rest of the chaff. So over time the rares started to cost more important chores like cleaning my room and not just emptying the dish washer. Anyway, that Dragonite is gorgeous. Such nostalgia locked in these cards.

My first edition holo Dragonite and (unfortunately not first edition) holo Articuno cards are in rough shape, but I still treasure them immensely 🥰

Border on dragonite looks sus. Very uneven

Man I opened so many of these as a kid this is giving me Flash backs

1st pack pulls dargonite lol... Perfect card however the left yellow border line is a bit thiner then the right but still a perfect 9.5 all day

Centering? wow! Very interesting! Your knowledge is incredible with how you know the prices so rapidly. How have they changed in the last few years? Did you get them graded? Very exciting to watch. It's also remarkable how critical you are about the centering or the tiniest white in a corner. I would never notice it, but you say it's terrible for being half a millimeter off! I suppose when you've seen so many!

I wish i never sold my charizard for $20 back then....and bought a dragon ball t shirt with it lol

Raichu was my first-ever holo pull. I got it in a 50-cent machine. I was so excited, but then I noticed that the first edition print was towards the bottom. The same location where the trainers have the first edition print but kinda slanted towards the side. The other Pokemon cards had it in the spot it was supposed to. I thought it was a fake at the time and threw it away. Now that I think about it I might have gotten a misprint lol

I have no idea how I found this video, but either way. Glad I did. It brought back some fawn memories, my dude!! God, I miss the feeling of opening up packs of cards, that new card smell, and the anticipation of what you may or may not get! Ohhh, I love an miss it! Full disclosure tho my card collection that I proudly still have is Yu Gi Oh!😅 Lol never really got into pokemon cards, only the games, which, as a thirty one year old, I still play them! Thank you so much for the kind words. So funny enough I collected Pokemon only as a young kid but later on I LOVED playing yugioh card game with friends in camp. I will at some point probably want to open up some ridiculous old school Yugioh boxes. Like Blue Eyes 1st edition box but thank you!

I had quit collecting and switched to Magic the gathering before Fossil. That Haunter and Dragonite are awesome. I'd love to have those

After seeing a few videos I wish I woulda kept all these cards I had when I was younger in perfect condition, I had hollow Lapras, arcanine, kangkastan, and a garadose, and a few others I just can’t think of them right now

I actually would not mind it if you took three hours to open up a box. No need to rush - it is great stuff. 😊 folks can always watch it at double speed if they are in a rush.

Where can I buy a jungle/fossil box set?? What are they best auction houses to look for these collectible box sets?

@@user-pd6bd7ir4zpeople arent spending the money for the card typically, otherwise theyd just be going to the store and get normal cards. what they want here is the rarity. these are collectors and typically they want stuff that everyone else wont be able to get. its a status thing. theres so few of these cards left i the world that telling someone you own one will get alot of jaw drops. its not “just a card”

Yes many high end boxes! I just obtained and opened a Base Set Shadowless box and posted the video. I will be also obtaining a 1st edition base set box sometime in 2022. I want to do PSA and Beckett grading videos as well. Looking to grow the channel and I’ll start doing high end giveaways as well. Stay tuned for more!!

I can't believe you'd rush through the cards of these old boxes, those artsyles and everything about the cards is so facinating. There can't be many brand new boxes left, and to just speed through it seems so wastefull

this is crazy, the holo aeroydactyl was part of my deck that got stolen from me in pre-school back then. It would be worth so much nowadays :(

so funny to think ive held all these cards with my smudgey child fingers

I remember (around 2003) a friend of mine's dad had a lot of sealed 1st edition pokemon booster boxes from the base set but they were in german. I ended up with several good cards (holo blastoise, venusaur, etc). I kept them stashed under my bed for years until my younger brother took them all to school and traded them. Almost had a mental breakdown.
