My animation time bar does not display a "(max is 5)" indication, and the animation only changes in decimal increments up to 1. Previous animations following your other tutorials worked perfectly. How can I modify the time parameter in order to view the complete animation?

In this tutorial the solver used is simplefoam (SimpleFoam is a steady-state solver for incompressible, turbulent flow, using the SIMPLE (Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure Linked Equations) algorithm), here there isn't animation (steady). In this case, the numbers (1-5) represent the convergence process where 5 is when the simulation reaches convergence. This no represents the time. In the previous tutorial (PitzDaily) we used pisofoam solver (Transient solver for incompressible, turbulent flow, using the PISO algorithm.) this solver is used for unsteady simulations and you can generate an animation consider the time.

@@ansys_cfd Thank you. After reviewing this tutorial again, I recognize I missed the critical 'simpleFoam' solver step after 'potentialFoam' processed. Upon a second attempt from the beginning, everything worked as expected. Your tutorials are very helpful in overcoming the learning curve of OpenFOAM.

I know it’s late and you would have figured it out already. But for those who are facing the same problem, use snappyHexMesh -overwrite instead of snappyHexMesh so that your snappy hex mesh will be used instead of block mesh you used earlier.

OpenFOAM is likely more powerful in terms of freedom, custom boundary conditions, fully programmable/editable. But an analyst using ANSYS probably outputs more work for the same given time.
