I've never seen a windscreen tested while the car is moving and hitting it with a wrecking ball...very thorough.

The Diesels were crap. Bad starters in wintertime, they had 2 batteries installed connected by one long cable that would heat up.

Malaysia has opel rekord 2.0s 4door saloon and diesel engine 2.1as city taxi 1978-1982.Sadly 1983 -1991 opel car stopped selling dealer closedown.1993-2005 came back selling with another dealer as import model but fail ,selling not good.

Those are hydraulic lifters to eliminate the need for valve adjustments. GM used them on most passenger car engines since the mid-50s. Not having to do valve adjustment maintenance was important for many customers. But your point is well taken. Opel's so called "CIH" (cam in head) engines were not very fast revving like "proper" OHC engines because the hydraulic lifters acted like push rods, so the main reason for having an overhead cam was almost moot.
