Searching for a new car, I've seen many vehicle review videos on youtube recently and I was very surprised about the quality of this one! Level of details and especially the style of review and presentation outclasses all. Even from a viewpoint of a non-native english speaker. Hope the gentleman in the video receives all the credit he deserves! And yes, Combo Life is on the top of our list currently.
What a brilliant review and what a brilliant reviewer in Brian. He is so enthusiastic about the things that matter, rather than talking for ages about the "infotainment" system(yawn). Thank you so much.

Awesome detailed review, keep on doing long reviews 😉
Very good review, you should do more of this!
Out of the jointly develop trio I would pick the Citroën Berlingo because of its bubbly appearance, nice range of colour palette and Airbump panels.

the exact reason why I wouldn't pick that one. I don't want to be driving around in a gumball machine looking car.
Very thorough review...thanks. I work for Vauxhall and I'm hoping that this is made available on the company car scheme.
What a review, so much detail. Fantastic job 👍👍👍
Well done review. For sure comprehensive one. Message is clear. Good test for those who never consider this kind of vehicle for family purpose or never expect that this car can be so family friendly and multi purpose. I am sure if someone try one, will never think about other vehicle any more.

Citroen Berlingo is identical but in Germany offers much bigger discounts, it is offered for over 2000€ less than the Combo. And front end looks imo better on the Citroen.
Great review. Of all the reviews seen on this car plus the Berlingo and the Rifter this os the best. Well done.

Great review Brian! 👍🏼
I drive a Vauxhall combo van for work, I love the high position, the visibility, and the simple controls and the great fuel economy, plus they are terrific on the motorway, I'm going to try to get one of these when my replacement is due, I think with a livery it can be classified as a commercial vehicle.
Thanks for excellent review! I think with Zafira going away sometime next year (and already gone from UK market last month) and upcoming big SUV, this car makes some sense. Some Zafira owners will switch to Combo Life, some to new SUV. And some to Touran/S-Max.
Brian your reviews are invaluable.
Oh good Lord... My favorite reviewer and the car which I'm really really interested in. Oh my, what a present!

Had my Combo Life a few months now and found it to be an excellent car. With regards to the indicator sounds, I’d never have given them another thought unless you hadn’t mentioned them in your review so not something I’d complain about!
Great vid, really helped me make up my mind between the the citron and Peugeot. The opal is the winner here, love the front end - very very car like in looks. Many thanks to the presenter, fabulous job done here.

I'd agree on that it's not bad looking at all. Only thing I'd really change is that there is a little much of painted body from the front. Wider grille or some other black plastic would make it less wierd looking. Really like it from the side. The kind of french looking squared wheel arches and the angular windows really work nice :)
This new Vauxhall people carrier is very special but to me I adore the French siblings (Berlingo/Rifter) and by the way it's a brilliant review to watch.

The new owner of Opel is a so much better than the old one. Ok now Opel uses the PSA platforms, but they are putting out vehicles like never before. And most of them are a quite compelling options. I hope that the Opels research and development department isn’t going to die off now.
@slava_trushkin

They are making new vehicles because they need to move away from GM platform. Everything that belongs to GM will be going away. I think next year we'll see new Insignia that has nothing in common with old one except name, based on PSA platform. Also 7 seater SUV. However after looking at this review and comparing it to Peugeot Rifter, my hopes aren't high. This car is almost identical to Peugeot Rifter. Does this mean new SUV will be a copy of 5008 and new Insignia will be a copy of 508? That's not innovation.
@worldolivier

@@slava_trushkin The Grandland X (based on 3008) ins't a copy of the french cousin. Same for the interior part. But it still has PSA engines and transmission. So, Opel will keep its DNA i think

Great Video Preview.
Thanks for the great review. But what is the size of the boot in long version with all seats up?
20:10 the small door is the upper fixation point of the boot net, when you use only the two front seats
Oh wow! Seeing the rear seats go fold flat so easily - that is a huge selling point for us. Makes it as good as the late great Nissan Sunny 1.3DX Estate
Amazingly detailed review, thank you. I've been looking for a 2-3 year old van-based car (I'm UK-based) with petrol engine and automatic gearbox. Almost no Berlingos or Rifters for sale have these two requirements. For some reason, there are lots more auto/petrol Combo Lifes for sale, but I knew very little about them. Not too sure about their rather bland looks, but your video has reassured me no end as to their functionality. Again, thank you for so much detail - and your enthusiasm!
You have missed a storage space, it’s underneath your front seats, the Vaxhall model ,long wheel base, is a excellent motor, l have had one for over a year, never had a problem, any one thinking of one, give it ago, it’s brilliant if you have a large family.
Thank you for the good information as a disabled passenger is very good for my wheel chair a flat boot

Great review, I like the three brands and I used to work for Vauxhall, but which version is best for standard equipment and price?
what's your opinion on the length of the seats and backrests? also the space for your right knee. I attended a static presentation and these were the things I was really concerned about.
I have a Partner Tepee and I cant wait to get the Rifter, my dad wants one too but he need the automatic cause he is on his 60;s and he prefers confort now over all, I have to tell you maybe you think is ugly boxy etc, but when once i needed to move my dryer (of clothes) to the seller to make my guarantee valid, and ho wow when i fit it inside the tepee, i coudnt believe it, since then im in love with this kind of vehicles "how easy it makes your life" (btw im from Mexico :)
Best review yet well done I WANT ONE lolol

Surely you have the gear paddles for changing down a gear when descending a steep hill when loaded up. The service breaks can easily overheat in the Alps or places like that.
They may have styled it to not look like a commercial vehicle but it sure sounds like one. I’d definitely go for the Petrol.
NICE DESIGN .. GOOD LOOKING .. THE BEST
I was wondering where did I see similar interior... I forgot that Opel is now under PSA.
Easy practical fix is a velcro-strap ( see you got one on your phone/cable there ), also get a separate USB cable just for the infotainment screen, tie the cable with velcro and hide it under the inductive charger, presto! less clutter. Car has impressive amount of cubbyholes and the price is quite unbelievable really. For looks I think Peugeot Rifter is the best with Citroen Berlingo in 2nd and Opel Combo 3rd. Great looking dash/cabin even if most of it is just plastic. The Automatic selector looks kind of off in that vehicle. Fantastic, honest and very comprehensive review there Brian.

The sound of the indicators doesn’t bother me at all as long as I can get on with the drive.
Where is the rear roof Cubby Box on the long wheel base
Great review, good work. Only, if this car is a Opel/Vauxhal, than i am an Englishman. Greetings from Belgium.
What colour is it? Is it silver or graphite?
No referencing PSA IS a clear minus but overall analisys IS great !
Have no idea what you're on about regarding looks. A car is a box with an engine and 4 wheels. Greatest car of all time was Nissan Sunny 1.3DX Estate - a simple van with seats. We kept being asked if we'd be willing to sell. Since 2005, we've had an early Peugeot Partner Combi then a later one. Seats 5 18-year old males - leg room and width. Disabled elderly ladies can get in and out easily from front and back. Great as a van while gutting and rebuilding a 1930s semi in south east London. Fits a large washing machine or a few bicycles inside easily. Easy to drive and park in narrow east London streets. The Nissan was better for sheet materials - could fit 8 * 3 foot board with passenger seat down and 6 * 4 foot board with passenger seat up. Since this is based on the Citroen and Peugeot, it looks perfect for 5 adults plus heavy duty DiY stuff or three grandchildren under 6.
I haven't really gone through the review...but I can already tell this is a re-badged Citroen of same kind.

Gkoulidis it’s just a rebadge with the same french build quality that will require the use of the free aa cover you get when you buy a new one

There is not a spare wheel at all?

Sat in the Vauxhall version today, boy is it a big car , nice looking sat nav screen . That’s about it for good stuff .. hard plastic everywhere, massive handbrake, no carpet over the middle seats when layed flat . Wasn’t impressed, in fact a big let down as we are looking for a car along the lines of this one.

Thing I wonder about is if the Berlingo has the advanced comfort suspension that you get in the Cactus and C5 Aircross. I can't find it anywhere on the Citroen Website but my mechanic drove one just last week and had the impression it very much drives like a Cactus hence it'd be interesting to at least get that information.

I've also figured out for what that little hole in the middle console is for... that's where they put the traction control system if you have that equiped on your car it seems. So if you don't buy it they just made a little storage space out of it

Is this new Combo Fiat based, or based on new PSA Berlingo? Speaking of which, when will Autogefuhl be reviewing the new Berlingo..?

The new one is PSA Based with the Rifter and Berlingo
PSA needs to offer this as an EV; there seems to be enough space under the floor for a battery pack. Perhaps they could use a similar motor and battery pack as in the eCorsa (100 kW, 50kWh, 205 mile range).

Usually quite different feeling of the ride, at least Peugeot vs Citroen versions of "same" car.
I have a Nemo automatic, because of my disabilities, and cannot use the clutch properly. Until someone convinces me that petrol is more economical than diesel, then diesel it is.
How I yearn for the times when an Opel/Vauxhall, Citroen and Peugeot were completely different propositions. ie when there was choice. Likewise with VW, SEAT and Skoda. ☹️

what if it is to rain, does these car have there winscrin wippers?
Needs projector headlights
I think the Peugeot Rifter is more aesthetically pleasing internally and the Citroen externally
Its a Peugeot/citroen you can tell who now owns Vauxhall/opel, one day all European manufacturers will morph into one.
I prefer a diesel engine and with the filter is cleaner than the petrol engines. Plus twice the milage.
Berlingo ?
So, if I understand well, Combo is much better car, than a Corsa GSi :D
A GOOD VIDEO JUST THE CAR A FAMILY . HARD PLASTIC = EASY TO CLEAN . NOISEY INDICATORS IDEAL WITH 3 OR MORE CHILDREN IN THE BACK .SLIDING SIDE DOORS MUCH BETTER FOR GETTING BABYS OUT OF CHILD SEAT IN A CAR PARK . LOOKS LIKE A GOOD CAR FOR OLDER PEOPLE IN AND OUT . IT IS NOT FOR THE BOY RACERS BUT JUST SO GOOD FOR MOST OF US
I've got the XL and its manual gearbox often doesn't mean to take the first on the traffic lights while it jitters when I press the clutch uphill. Also, the 2nd row passengers are seated way too upright, making long journeys unbearable as their seats don't recline at all. On top of everything, those seated in the 3rd row are roasted like chickens on a hot summer day given that their windows don't open and there are no air vents, not even as an option. It's about time PSA understood passengers are something more than parcels on shelves and they definitely deserve more respect.
Isn’t this just a Citroen
Head up display Already exist in peugeot expert.
LWB vs 2015 Merc GL with 30K Miles?
Few things to add: Up-down style track switching on the steering wheel is there since like... Astra H I guess meaning since 2004. And you get used with in in few days. Why using USB cable?! This advanced infotainment system is equipped with Bluetooth, isn't it? And few more expectations from the video (since Brian is a commercial cars fan): It was worth showing how front passenger seat is folding to carry long items Few minutes more regarding drivers seat, armrest, dashboard view from drivers perspective Owning a similar type of car it was really worth demonstrating how 3 persons could sit in the rear, give some measurements of the bootspace and what else... Few more words about visibility and mirrors, possibly mirror view from the drivers side And even without all those things it's another great review by Brian. My best wishes to you and Jonas :)
