Hey Fudelio! great job another vid. i've been kinda thinking of future proofing myself for a bit because OP is getting way too expensive for me these days to keep up with collecting and rips, so im wondering your thoughts on a leader you see longevity that stays competitive probably in the 1.5 range or close to. I just want to invest in one deck and continue to build it as sets go on. I have WB, R-Ace, blue/yellow Ace, boa/doffy, and zoro decks built as of right now, but looking to off load all my extras and just focus on 1-2 decks for the next two sets. its all personal opinion but im wondering what you think since you're at least in the late op08 meta right now.

Thanks for watching! That’s a bit of a tough question since we have a ban/restriction announcement coming on 8/12 but out of the decks you listed the most future-proofable imo is blue Doffy. I think with the new ST deck cards that just came out he got a considerable power up, and if RP Law and Lucci both get hit in some capacity, he’ll be much more viable for the next couple sets. Another one might be red Ace since he’s always strong in certain metas and might be getting more powerful from the new red cards in OP9. That’s just my initial opinion, but I hope it helps! I would honestly wait until 8/12 to see what bans are happening before you make any big decisions tho

Yamato is still my main on the sim even for op07. I love playing oden now and I’ve been playing a lot of purple now. I’m running ace and whitebeard more because they are just nasty. I also really like gb issho. Vegapunk is super fun to play and can be very hard to beat if you can play it right even in op07. I’ve come into so many alt art leaders and I can’t help but play them all 😂 I just love this game. I don’t have time for big tournaments so I can live in my delusion that most decks are really good since I only play at locals right now lol

Ayeee that’s the best way to play though!! It’s hard to get into any big tournaments in Japan so I feel you. Playing the decks you like and having fun is the best way to do it though 💪🏼

King is definitely the leader I'm most interested in playing, I currently play Yamato, Law, and Katakuri but I kind of want a change of pace. Haven't played any black before

Nice! Yeah honestly I don’t really play black or purple but King looks fun. I play a bit of Moria on the sim but besides that stick to yellow green and red :)

Can we expect a samurai Yamato guide for OP07? OP07 is coming soon in the west and I’m excited to try the new build

Katakuri is extremly strong in the op7 meta, i dont know how hes so far behind. hes still better than enel and has an ridiculously good matchup against lucci and moria

I dont think Kata is that strong in 07. He loses to RP Law most of the time, and actually struggles into Lucci cus they can just KO everything the turn you play it out. Those are 2/3 best decks in the format. Enel is definitely the stronger yellow leader for OP7. Kata's coming back a bit in OP8 with the Egghead builds, so that's cool to see though

Great video, meta seems pretty healthy. Do you think we need a banlist to balance some decks like RP Law or do you think there's enough variety in the format?

Thx✨ I think we have to see how crazy Law is in OP08 before we can really confirm if bans or restrictions will be necessary, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets banned within 6 months 😅

King definitely looks the most interesting out of the new leaders but I think alot of the cards are just gonna fit better into lucci

I think King will be rly strong but Lucci being a 5 life leader might just make him better in the end. And yeah the new black cards unfortunately work really well in Lucci too 😅

@FudelioTCG FAIR. But being in the west going into set 7, my most anticipated leader is lucci. As soon as he was revealed I've been hype for his release. So even if lucci still ends up being better I don't mind at all because he's been my favorite deck to come out in a long time

What’s the equivalent of Treasure Cup in Japan? You mentioned Regionals but not TCs.

We don’t have Treasure Cups so I’d say you’d either have to compare them to regionals themselves or the Flagship tournaments. Flagships are much smaller though, only 32-64 ppl normally. So there isn’t really a direct comparison unfortunately

I think RP luffy is wildly under explored. He plays very well into most of the meta

I think he’s good against Law if you can set up properly but kinda loses to Lucci IMO. Would be cool to see him come up though, I used to play him a lot in OP4

9c Zoro does beat Enel, but if they draw 1-2 Raigo then yeah, it's rough. There's not much else you can do to play around it if Zoro is your best way of beating Enel.

What makes lucci so much higher and diff tier than gecko?

My guess would be a better matchup against ST13 Luffy. Which is a very prevalent deck that pretty much wrecks Moria.

Lucci handles RP Law extremely well. Outside of Yamato it’s one of the only leaders that can have a favored MU against him. On top of that, having the base 6000 attackers in Lucci and Kaku are really strong against other MU as well, including into Moria. Lucci has KO power that Moria just doesn’t have. Lucci kinda gets smashed against BY Luffy, but I’d say he might have a slightly better shot than Moria bcus of early KO potential and running Stussy etc for big bodies to finish the game while cycling trash and 2ks better than Moria can.

Pluffy deserves tier 1.5 !

I feel like law just replaced sakazuki tho ? More Bottom deck and boardspam. Law has a lower ceiling in some ways but also has better early game aggro.

Yeahhhh, law did kind of replace Saka, but it’s not as bad tbh Law and Lucci are essentially the new gatekeepers but I do feel like it’s much more diverse than it was before

All your tier list videos is just you talking about Yamato lmao. Jokes aside tho I think Yamato doesn't belong in the same tier as Bonney for example (based on the overall results, especially in Asia CS). So it's either Yamato goes a tier down or you need to add an extra tier and put Bonney and Moria in there above Yamato.

lol it's my fav leader I can't help it. Plus 07 saw some really fun development with Yamato. I don't think adding another tier is necessary. You could make an argument to put Moria above Bonney just based on tournamnet results, but I also took into account where the leaders were, meta-wise, at the end of OP7. Moria stopped seeing play almost completely at the end of the format and Bonney wasn't as prevelant as well. They're all leaders that are competetive and can win flagships, so that's why they're all on the same tier.

Just my opinion as another JP player, I disagree that Uta is that low. I think are tier 2. The reason she's not topping in flagships is not because she cannot, it's because every Uta player, myself included dropped her for Bonney. The deck is certainly better than Oden, Katakuri, and Dragon. If the criteria is top 8 a flagship rather then the actual ability of the deck, I'll remind you that op02 Ivankov got 2nd in Nakagyo, and 8th in Chiyoda. Can we really say Uta is worse than Ivankov just because Ivankov has placed? Uta is not weak deck, it's just pointless to play compared to Bonney, but still quite capable when you compare to the rest of the meta.

Yeah tbh I kinda forgot about Uta when fine tuning the tier 2-3 tiers. I could give you that she could be in tier 2 just based on some of her results and her potential. But I also kinda base these off of what I see ppl playing in Japan too so that’s why she didn’t really come to mind. Like you said, no one plays her cus Bonney or other green green/x leaders are just better. So if she’s not proving any real results it’s hard for me to put her in that tier. But some of the tier 2 leaders like Dragon that I put in there you could argue shouldn’t be, so it’s a valid point.

Nice! I couldn’t pull the leader parallel unfortunately so I went out and bought one cus it was really cheap : ) I think the new ST deck will make Uta and all the green decks stronger, so I’m excited to see all the new cards
