Nia B She was only 16 when she went on that show...but even for a 16 year old she had amazing control. Quite frankly, I think she should have won but I'm also glad she didn't. They ruined quite a few artists. Anyway, I'm sure (just as it would be for anyone else) that she's gained so much more control since then. Either way, she has always been an incredible singer.

I listened to this before the original, actually (I'm not in touch with 'modern' genres), and at some point I got curious enough to look up the original version and was so completely underwhelmed by it. Haley's should be the original and last version of the song, and everything in between. It's perfect.

This is the case for all PMJ covers. I hear the PMJ cover and my opinion of the original is ruined and here's why: I think the original is engineered to be a pop hit, and these covers are crafted with care, fun, and unprocessed live talent.

THAT is a master class. That’s how you do it. Voice. Body language. Diction. Facial expression. The whole kboodle. Can’t help thinking of Marilyn Monroe just watching her but my goodness me she sure nailed it.

No...that's an independent project in conjunction with her publishing company ole majorlyindie and that project, which initially was going to be just an EP, was expanded to an album. Haley had been meeting with all the major record labels off and on in an ongoing process since late November of 2015, and she has said on several occasions during that time that she is very close to signing with a new home. We'll see. She needs to find a good record label who will get behind her and really market her, but she is understandably being very careful and thoughtful about the process. Plus she has a very competent attorney helping her as well.

This is a perfect set to walk into as you settle down to a mixed drink in small out of the way pub late at night. Finding that your blues just melted away and your spirit has lifted. A real treat.

I swear something changed my brain chemistry when I first listened to Haley's voice

I've played in various bands, worked in a recording studio and attended the Academy of Contemporary Music... If a singer like this walked through the door there would be physical fights to get her to join you! I have to concentrate and stay focused to play - but some people just have such natural talent. As she hits a high note she points and looks off left as she can actually see the music in the air. I'm a "C" list musician - yes I can play but its forced. A few cool tricks. B's have a little more talent... A's are all natural. The only reason I stay in music is to have the opportunity to play with A's... even B's.... Its a joy. Every time I hear Creep by Radiohead I do think of my career!

Actually, if you listen to a lot of '40s songs, you'd hear even more suggestive lyrics. Especially sung by African American women. And if you went to the clubs, you definitely got an R-rated show.

Yeah I think the concept of 30’s-50’s being censored is a bit of stereotype. Sure there were concepts not endulged and probably frowned upon now. But I don’t think this sort of thing would of even stood out.

So much talent on this channel. Not just from the vocals and instruments being on-point, but also from translating modern hit songs into this style so flawlessly

This one is really growing on me...they are all awesome, but she is just a musical genius when you really listen to her style choices etc...

Still can't believe she was voted off during American Idol '-' But ad least PMJ really treats her the way the judges should have with the talent she has & look at her now :D Rock on Haley!

American idol doesn't always know what's best. Thank goodness we have Scott hoying of pentatonix, Toderick hall and tori Kelly to keep trying even though american idol didn't think they were good. Lol

+Craze961 thing is the judges loved Haley and Casey but the vote comes down to the public and they weren't common denominator enough and Scotty was a decent singer to come runner up too.
