For some reason I imagine him in a story where he and another camp councilor have obvious chemistry, but they are both very shy around each other. So all the camp kids go to increasingly ridiculous efforts to get them together

just a little skin tone tip, when drawing a darker skinned character try and make their palms a lighter shade ! it makes the character look a lot more real and accurate ! loved the video

As soon as you said you were losing the shy/introverted aspect in his design, I wondered if he used to be a real shrinking violet kid who came out of his shell at Camp Creative as an attendee, and came back as the counselor everyone loves.

I was thinking the same :D The second drawing (the face) looked like a key moment where he realized he could be extroverted and brave if he had to stand up for someone else, and the rest of the drawings looked like some time later, after he had slowly learned that he can be brave anytime he wants to, and has come to accept himself.

i had a teacher that would say that. so it comes full circle! i was always so afraid to say something stupid or come up with a stupid idea, but thats just how the brain registers new things. connecting different dots and just throwing as much at the paper as possible and you'll find a really good idea.

I love him! I feel like he’s the type of person to style his hair differently every day. It’s something that would get the kids excited to see him every morning and inspire them to try new things as well!

When I heard “camp counselor” I immediately thought of tie-dye and lanyards, so I was glad you incorporated them at points!

I despise short -ish bangs. When I had them, most of my time was spent trying not to have my eyes poked out, dodging complements because apparently it’s cute, and wondering who came up with them.

I got to STOP falling in love with every male character you draw!!

I was screaming: make it a palette shape instead of a circle! When you were making the logo lol

I’m so glad I have you to fall back on when my anxiety is bad or my health spikes up (I have POTS) it’s so comforting to just watch you and listen to you and I consider you a close friend to my heart ❤️

i love these videos because watching artists who draw really well redo the same thing over and over again helps me realize that even the great artists have to redraw things they don’t like. and the way you create the character is very inspiring and helps me with my own art too

Wow, I really love how this character turned out! You did a great job of giving him a personality and making him feel like a real person :)

i love this character and also at the beginning when you hadn't decided on a gender and thus kept saying "they" i was excited at the prospect of a they/them character, maybe you could draw one sometime

after spending countless hours watching a bunch of your videos...I actually managed to draw an entire face (yay me!!!!) spent two sleepless nights drawing faces...it was worth it.

Half-way watching this I had an idea what if the character is like your basic introverted, shy person but when they go to do their job at camps, they're exactly the favorite person for all the kids around and they get kind of pulled out into extrovert land... and once they come back home they recuperate the use of energy for nearly a month xD

well it depends on your art style, but i would suggest looking at some of your favorite artists and see how they draw glasses and then incorporate that in you art style. Hope this help and good luck!!!

Don't know if it would help but it might; practice drawing glasses not only on a character, but also just laying in a table, open, closed, from different angles. And I don't know how realistic you work, but if it's more realistic, then start with both very low to no prescription glasses and very strong ones (both ways preferably) so you get a feel for the distortion it creates in an exaggerated way.
