i'm learning german this year at my highschool (i get to take 4 years of it :) ) i love the language to me its more romantic than french or spanish. @SaFiniPasChere Oomph was also a big influence in their early works. Many people call oomph a rammstein copy but the fact is oomph was 3 years earlier than rammstein, kinda cool huh?

@iggiesrock Everyone thinks that Freanch and Italian are the most romantic languages but to me German is the most romantic language ever. I am like you I was inspired to learn the language because of musci but I will never be ashamed to admit that Tokio hotel introduced me to the language first. I am a big TH fan but I love Oomph! all the same, though I only found Oomph! 6 months ago.

Guys let's not fight about which bands are better ok?? I'm like obsessed with TokioHotel I love them they're the ones who introduced me to German music and inspired me to learn German. Both TH and oomph have different music styles oomph is more mature and harder and TH I'll admit have turned way to mainstream pop ok let's not fight

Well I'm not a literate on English language but saying that Tokio hotel is best (then oomph!) makes me think of a comparison. But hey, maybe it's just me. Maybe in ur school saying Someone is better than another one means equality. And btw, I was not offended by him/her. I was offended by the fact that people thinks a band is better than another just because they have more fans, even if those fans are teenagers girls who doesn't know about music other than the image of the lead singer. How is it possible to think of German as course/ugly? Methinks one would have to be describable with those adjectives to be able to insult the language as such. German is beautiful; I cannot wait to learn it. That desire came from listening to awesome music such as this (though I'm ashamed to admit that the first music I heard in German was by Tokio Hotel).

My list of best German bands I have listened to goes as follows: 1. Oomph! 2. Eisbrecher 3. Megaherz 4. Blutengel 5. Rammstein 6. Cro 7. Tokio Hotel Of course these are the only German bands/artists I know of. If any of you know more please give me their names. I'll definitely check them out.

ASP has some good German songs. Schöngeist, Heldmaschine (I think), Unheilig, and Das Ich. Stahlmann, too, as one of the people in the comments below had said. Those are the ones I can think of thus far. By the by, sorry for being 4 years late

I love German though, been learning it since I was 8 w/o lessons and have now taken German in highschool. Oh, and people hate German because it is the language of "Nazis"...
