My only real problem with a figure like this is the price. Depending on where you buy it, you're approaching the $30.00 range.

IMO he's a decent enough figure. Another addition to my Spider-man's Rogues Gallery shelf. I have to agree with you about the head sculpt being black and him having accessories with additional hands.

They are running out of bodies and they are not making some that look better or modern or function in a good way. (no it's not decent)

Thank you. Seems like another example of Hasbro telling us, "Hey, we know you collectors out there that are collectors of niche characters or are "completists" will get this figure, so we're not going to really invest production money in it... we need to maximize profit margin". Toy Biz went out of business for a reason, sure. But c'mon, Hasbro... pinless-jointed arms at minimum here!!!

I'm still getting him but yeah the lack of accessories and the color of the bandana is pretty damn upsetting. I give him a sud rating of "I'll wait for the black Friday sale."

The only thing I'm not liking is the bandana colour, I think the smirk facial expression suits the character.

My only problem with the street humans is that they don’t fit with any figures I have, they are like an inch taller than everything I own. 😭 Good figures tho

I like this figure well enough. I don't really know what more they could do to a Tarantula figure to make it much better. I don't really care about pin-less pegs and whatnot. And BTW his mask was absolutely supposed to be blue in his early appearances and even into the 80's. You can see the difference in the coloring of the mask compared to his boots and gloves and chest symbol. The mask is like 90% blue with some black shading, and the boots and gloves, etc. are 90% black with some blue shading. So his mask was definitely always meant to be blue. Later in the 90's Eric Larsen changed it to black (but he also made Spider-Man's blue sections black as well). So the mask on this figure is not incorrect. It's just a matter of which era you prefer.

I'd have been fine with this IF they had done the shading mentioned on the mask. I think what throws people is that it is such a straight, bright blue all it's own, no different than if it had been straight green or purple, as that color appears nowhere else in the costume. Black shading would have at least made it visually tie in better. (And yes, I follow Anthony's Customs, because I am nearly as picky and detailed as he is. 😊)

This is the epitome of what Hasbro is now. This is them doing the bare minimum with no respect for their customers. The Giant Man is actual a good value-quality ratio. This is insulting.

actually this guy is exelent for a ps4/5 side mission. you see tarantula had been involved with the BRAND and the brand is a branch of ROXXON, so roxxon coming back with an attempt to pay back miles is a perfect opportunity and a use for a rather underused villian like martin lee and hammerhead

The figure is good there is really nothing wrong with it i have fun playing with it. And its very accurate to the comics. Hes like a bad guy version of Zorro .the Only thing lacking to me about the figure is it should have come with more hands. La tarantula also had claw hands in the comics. But i think its decent figure. I say good articulations not Great but sufficient enough to have fun playing with it. I like the figure . Knowing the character.

I always thought it was a red and blue costume? The Tarantula is a fictional character name used by several characters, usually supervillains, appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Most of these characters are primarily depicted as wearing a red and blue suit with retractable blades.

The type of figure ill buy for loose off eBay for $15-20 eventually and be completely happy with it. I wouldnt spend the retail $24.99 and then complain online about Hasbro. I just wouldnt buy it. Not every figure will make everyone happy.

I really didnt like it that much, but with the 70% target sale, for $7.00 is not bad.

If we are going to accept that Spider-Man's costume is supposed to be blue, then we can accept it in Tarantula's mask. It was supposed to be for shading with Spidey initially as well. And if you look at the comic you can see that the mask is mostly blue, with black shading, whereas his gloves and boots are mostly black with blue shading. It's okay to be wrong.

The joints are so gummy on this figure. You can't stand him on one leg kicking. The knee joint bends to the side. It's pretty terrible.

The head sculpt of the toybiz figure is not better then the new Hasbro figure you got to be kidding me. The new Hasbro figure is an improvement. From the old one I'm sorry I have to disagree. The old one looks terrible by far compared to the new Hasbro figure. Now you sounding like Antony customs I think I know it all. . Guy. 😅

2:07 There's difference between being a Hasbro hater and admitting when their products are dog shit, like most of their ML figures. This Tarantula figure is good... in a Marvel Legends vaccuum. This is $24 for a generic red body with Sharpie levels of paint apps with a new head and feet. The new NECA Synja Bot with a brand new sculpt, completely covered in paint, multiple accessories, for $36. Only $12 more for an objectively better figure, you might not care about that character, but that doesn't affect how good the figure is as a product. Shartimus primary reviews are Hasbro figures, Mcfarlane DC, and occasionally high-end collectables, so he's barely exposed to actual good figures. He's probably convinced that Hasbro and Mcfarlane DC is as good as it gets (SHF Marvel isn't their best work), so he's okay with mediocrity. I was the same way. My suggestion is to check out reviews for other action figures lines, like NECA, Mafex, SHF (their anime figures are usually better than their superhero figures). Even if you don't like or care about those characters, just expand your horizons and see how many good action figure lines are out there. After watching several NECA TMNT reviews, I have to confess, Hasbro's figures are just cheapy kids' toys sold at unrespectably high prices.
