Thanks very much, bro. Your review made me interested in purchasing it and I just did. This saga brings back good memories of my adolescence.

Glad it helped!
I was a teenager when this series was coming out and I only got bits and pieces of the story. I never got a chance to read the entire story, until now. As I got older I even stopped reading comics all together. Last year I discovered the Omnibus, and started collecting. I am looking forward to getting the Onslaught Omnibus.

Me too Just ordered it today; looking forward to read it too
I was a little kid when this originally came out and the combination of this and The Clone Saga put me off of Marvel Comics as a whole for over a decade. Some of the art in here looks cool, but I feel like it would give me a headache if I tried to read it. Thanks for the overview.

I totally understand that, I'm sure I would've felt the same way if I'd been reading events like this at the time

@@TheComicBookTrove Best part of the Onslaught saga was creating an epic final boss for Marvel vs Capcom
I’ve got a few random issues from this story, and now I know to avoid this omni. Thanks for review/warning!

Yeah most of this event really isn't great or necessary reading...
Very cool
Honestly I loved this saga, maybe people doesn’t like it so much, and not fas as good as “Age of Apocalypse” maybe, but I loved this saga, cause begins as a menace for the X-Men, and how the Avengers and the Fantastic Four envolded, good battles, good characters as Post (Onslaught Herald), Holocaust and Nate Grey (Chacracters from the Age Of Apocalypse saga) and Onslaught indeed

Yeah the main story focusing on the X-Men, then Avengers and Fantastic Four is pretty entertaining, but most of the tie ins are a lot less interesting
Thanks for the review!

@@TheComicBookTrove absolutely! This was where my love for comics died for a few years, only to get back on it circa 2008…just started collecting omnibus books for about 2 years now
I read most of these comics when they were new and stopped collecting Marvel shortly thereafter. I haven't read any of these comics since, so my memory may not be serving me well, but I remember just being confused by the character of Onslaught. We're told Onslaught is a combination of Xavier and the bad brain parts of Magneto ... but Onslaught doesn't behave like Xavier, bad Magneto, good Magneto, or any combination of the two, really? Apparently, if Xavier mated with the dark side of Magneto, the baby would be ... something like Apocalypse???

That actually pretty much sums it up!
giant crossover events are still a big problem

True, but I think to me this one is just a prime example of big crossovers at their worst in terms of taking a story that isn't that good in the first place and stretching it out so unnecessarily. This story could've been streamlined so much but of course that's not how it's done
people loved this in the 90's. insane to say it was bad for comics. immediate dislike to the video. collecting all of these issues in the 90s was awesome. Spoiled millenials these days. lol
