If you watch and listen to a lot of Carpenters on utube you’ll know that at least half the people get tears. It’s amazing!!! It happens to me too. Their music is phenomenal! And I doubt there is any other music that evokes this much emotion to make so many people cry. 😊

I remember listening to The Carpenters, like every one else, growing up in the 70s. As a teenager of 15,1983, heard the news of Karen's passing. Broke my heart. So young. So talented. I, as everyone else, miss you Karen.❤

Your "enhancements" are GREAT! This is my all-time favorite Carpenters tune. Released 42 years ago and I still love it! Sad to think that Karen left us 35 years ago already... Thanks again for all of your hard work you put into this and reintroducing us to this classic Carpenters track!

My mother introduced me to this beautiful woman's voice when i was a kid. Now, I am filled with beautiful, wonderful memories of both of these major life influences, and thanks to KZread, I am able to relive these memories. Thanks Mom!

Excellent, clean re-master. 'Course, if you started with their CD, you had a heck of a mix to start with. I've listened to their songs time and again. She is my all-time favorite female vocalist. My late wife loved her, too. We spent many an hour listening, singing to each other, and basically enhancing our lives together. Thanks for the good work.

This sound enhancement that sounds more like an exquisite arrangement only makes this song infinitely better. My face is soaked in tears. This is my most favorite Carpenter's song. In the top 10 of my list of other American music.

My all time favorite song of theirs

Years ago I took alot of guff for liking the Carpenters. My friends could not understand listening to anything that did not blow your eardrums out. To each his or her own.

Carpenters are the best! Like singer/composer Paul Williams said that some people called them "vanilla," but how exquisite a flavor vanilla is. Karen Carpenter is one of the finest singers who ever lived and her perfect pitch and impeccable timing (and Richard's arrangements) are awesome any singer or group would be lucky to have.

I was one of those kids who was to “cool” to like the Carpenters. Now I’m much older, maybe a little wiser and I miss them. This song and Superstar always touch me deeply. Among others.

My Oh My!! Slap on some quality headphones. The instrumentation and harmonies are off the charts. Karen’s voice is crystal clear, pitch perfect and superb as usual. Richard really knew how to compose and arrange songs which brought out the best in Karen. These songs are timeless gems 💎

I didn't think it was possible either. When you get these requests (and they throw the book at you) and up comes the Carpenters I thought to myself "these songs don't need to be to be improved on" so what am I to do to improve on them? You almost have to be a crazy man to take on some of these musical challenges. I will say one thing about the Carpenters. When I decided to work on some of their songs there could be no sloppy piling of tracks on top of the original without serious consideration. I had to sharpen my talents to the absolute extreme if I was to make any improvement on these songs. These people are incredible I want to honor their memory by keeping the standard as high as I can. I plan on doing more Carpenters in the future too. Kenn

Your comments are understood. A&M didn't produce outstanding sounding recordings but this album and specifically this track,was an exception. But you should be proud, you did improve it and it is even more clear and detailed than the original.

except karen had a greater octave range, and crisper perfect diction and enunciation and also could hold a "note" up to 20 seconds or more....

Heck yeah, it sounds good with the Beyerdynamic DT 177 GO headphones. I can hear bass drum first and that hi hat cymbal real clear. Audio Technica M50 and M50X headphones same thing. I am eyeing on another set (another brand) this Christmas at a reduced price.

It called my attention that the score shown at the beginning of the video is in the key of G major. Nevertheless, the song is performed by The Carpenters in E flat major. There is a difference of two tones, which is the usual difference in tones for male compared to female singers. The male, two tones above the female.

Superb enhancement. Even though the edited version is excellent, I've always preferred the album version. Would it be possible and hopefully not too much of a bugger to produce an enhanced version of it?

I agree. It's only adding 27 seconds but there's something about the LP version which would make an enhanced version that much greater. Hands down it's that 27 seconds!
