Is Only Murders in the Building actually a brand new idea? I didn't look.

What makes the show work is the trio's chemistry. You have this millennial woman and two guys from the first years of SNL. There's no reason a dynamic like this should blend so well and yet it does.

Martin wasn't on SNL until 1984. Years after Steve was guest host in the first five years of the show. In fact, Steve and Martin had never met until they did The Three amigos.

​@@akbar5656Martin Short may not have been a cast member of SNL until the 80s, but he did used to date Gilda Radner and visited her in New York when she was there. He also knew all the original cast and most of them visited him in Toronto as he was a member of Second City, and he knew Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray and his brother from the Toronto chapter's connection to Chicago. He also had Robin Williams crash at his place for a while after Mork and Mindy was cancelled, after extending an invitation to visit Toronto when they randomly met in California.

Charles reaching across the table is the ultimate representation of what makes this show amazing and hilarious. Most actors would do something like that and not commit to it the same way Steve does. Steve makes hilarity so effortless, as does the rest of this amazing cast. The chemistry between the trio is unbeatable and the supporting cast is out of this world. Excited so many of the old cast are coming back despite the move to California. Hopefully Tina Fey, Nathan Lane and many others will be back too!!

I can't wait! I binged all 3 seasons last year and it's probably the best comedy I've seen in years. Absolute comedic gold! I've always loved Martin and Short, but was so pleasantly impressed by Gomez; she's brilliant and the three have amazing chemistry!

She carried her Disney comedy show on her back when she was a teen.

The one thing I’ve loved about the show is that there’s a new season literally every year they start filming in January. They’re done by May and then they have the editing done within a few months and then by August or December they have the season out they’ve been doing since 2021.

This is the best comedy because IT'S A COMEDY. It's not a 30-minute drama with some ironically humorous moments thrown in. It TRIES to be hilarious and it SUCCEEDS. It's amazing how rare that is in streaming.

This is (hands down) the BEST thing HULU has released since its inception! I cannot wait for the new season to begin! And I absolutely adore the cast, I can’t even pick a favorite. If this ever gets canceled I will in turn cancel my HULU 😅
