Bruce I love the fact you featured a Swiss brand that is very inconspicuous. I have another Swiss brand that is like Frederique, EDOX. Don't see much content on KZread featuring EDOX. If I am not mistaken EDOX is a privately family owned Independent Swiss brand. Thanks.

The world timer is under my radar since a few months. The perpetual calendar and the pointer date moonphase are a nice discovery for me. Happy to see that my closest AD is selling this brand too ;)

I really like what FC does with their Inhouse movements. There are some serious pieces! My favorites are the Worldtimer you highlighted in your video as it has such a classic and timeless appearance! My 2nd favorite Frederique Constant is the Flyback Chronograph which is just awesome looking and can be obtained for an awesome price as well. Unfortunately exactly this is the problem - on the used market they are really not selling very well... at least in Europe / Germany. You can get a great watch at a great price but make sure you will keep it for a good amount of time!

Great that you picked this very interesting brand. Especially if you are looking for Swiss automatic dresswatches, Frederique Constant is really on point. I have since 2 years their dresslook smartwatch which is amazing although it is of course not an automatic movement. But I like that they are doing things a little bit different than other brands.

Nice video Bruce and good coverage of Frederique Constant. I have an FC and while the overall style of the brand isn't for me - Im more an Alpina (FC sister brand) sports guy - but I remain a fan. However as an owner of one of their watches (and an owner of multiple Alpinas) a few things I'd say: 1. for better or worse the connection with Citizen appears very remote - since the takeover nothing has changed with the watches at all. 2. the build quality is insanely good compared to similarly priced SWATCH/RICHMONT/LVMH offerings. The quality of case finishing, dial, hands, indices etc is amazing - from a SWATCH POV I'd say perhaps Longines matches FC/Alpina but certainly nothing below that.

I've been waiting for more people to make videos about this company. In house movements with some serious complications for under 10k is impressive. Never held one in the flesh so I don't know if the quality holds up. Can't wait to see your opinion

I shot some video with one for my own channel but didn’t edit it yet. After seeing some Zenith, GP, Omega and some other big hitters the same day I was absolutely blown away by the in hand quality of their world timer. Looks and feels like a more expensive watch. Insane discounts in the grey market as well for FC

A bit of a tough brand to do an entire collection on. Far for the "best" in their collection but the 3 I would go with 1. Classic Moonphase Manufacture - dress(y) 2. Rally Healey green dial -everyday 3. F.C. Smartwatch - sporty

I love FC as a brand. I love that they offer in house complications for discounted price, like the perpetual calendar. But part of me worries that they may not have the longevity of other larger brands. That's the only thing holding me back from gunning for one of their perpetual calendars.

Putting their highlife (never secondary market) on my list. I want a perpetual Calendar and this I can possibly afford if I save up. I don't mind putting that kind of money on a FC because I wear watches to feel happy and not as much to impress others.

Founders are from Holland. They could achieve something great if they finetune the design & SIZE. i have tried a moonphase with a hinged back cover (type name escapes me...hunter case...?) in 40mm and it was kinda impressive apart from the height.

I know Citizen, also own's Alpina, which also can be had with great discounts. As far as the world timer, for the same money I'd go for a Nomos Zurich Weltzeit, and maybe the new Junghanns, which I think is under $2K. You will get discounts on all of them, but not to the extent of the FC or Alpina and even if you pay more for the Nomos, it's retention value especially the Zurich Weltzeit is better.

Nice introduction to the brand. I think that FC has better value with their cheaper watches around 1 to 2000$. I feel like the Slimline Power Reserve looks great and for the price it make a good run to JLC power reserve at double the price. At 3-4000$ range they go against brands like Baume et Mercier that have a "real" history and pedigree. The new Clifton Baumatic line with the moonphase and calendar are in the same price range I believe, and also in-house caliber with 5 days power reserve. It would make a great comparison video if you can get your hands on products from both brands!

Same. When it comes to mechanical watches, I need a seconds hand. Otherwise, is it really worth the price increase over quartz? Especially for a grand complication like a perpetual calendar. I appreciate the craftsmanship, but my ADHD still requires some movement happening on the dial, haha.

If I had to do a three piece collection from one brand, it’d be JLC. Reverso , large small seconds. Dressy enough for dress occasions but could also be worn more casually. Polaris chronograph. Perfect casual, sporty watch. Master Control date. Great casual watch for everyday office wear.

The comments on this brand are all over the place below this video. Some like the brand, some like but wouldn't buy one 50% off, and some say it's crap with no rationale behind their comment. I've never held one or looked at one - too dressy for my taste. However, I feel competition in this segment is good and everyone has different style preferences.

A brand like Frederique Constant could reveal the tricks of the very expensive brands who want to tell us, that the quality and design of Rolex and co are 100 times better so you have to pay 100x more money for it. I like Patek and co but i am not so dump to believe the price of this watches would only be based on true values. If you are a real watch lover and expert, you do not only evaluate the price and the stable value of a watch. You have to see the quality and the beauty of a watch. Brands like Grand Seiko or Frederique Constant etc. making watches in a very high quality and a good design for a good price. Nobody can tell me, that the quality and design of Rolex etc. are 100 times better. The image of Rolex etc. ist the expensive part. The very smart trick is, to scarce the watches to hold the price in a high level but this is not a true value, not a sign of quality, not a sign of good design. It's a simple trick. Do you really think a Rolex clock work 100 times longer as a Seiko or Frederique Constant etc. ? If you see watches as an investment then you have to buy Rolex but if you love watches and don't want to pay for an image to upgrade yourself, then you are able to see that there are a lot alternatives to Rolex or Patek etc.
