I agree that the organizers should have been jailed. But actually only of the organisers got fined with 25.000€ and the driver got 15 months in prison.

@@IndyIsabelle It being an accident doesn't absolve the driver of any wrongdoing. You can hit a person with your car by accident, this doesn't mean it is 100% the pedestrian's fault. The driver has a duty to not cause harm to people and property. He is bonkers to agree to drive such a vehicle so close to a crowd. And yes, the organisers should have planned better and made the environment safer. However, ultimately, it was the driver's actions that caused the accident as he was the only one in control of the vehicle, hence he bears most of the responsibility.

The fact the driver goes to jail but the organizers didn’t get anything but just a petty fine is bullshit. The driver didn’t even mean it and it was the organizers fault for their shitty protection.

In my home town 😭

I have been to over a dozen Monster Truck rallies in my lifetime and I have never seen the people so close as they were there. Just standing that close, none of those people felt they were in any danger at all? Seriously? I would not have been so close. These trucks can wildly unpredictable, some have in excess of 1200 horse power and they weigh close to 10 tons. Just no, stay back! To me, it looks like a few people died for no reason at all.

Monster trucks are a rare site in that country. Really more of an oddity, not like in the States. I am sure much of the crowd did not know how unpredictable a monster truck is.

They know now, I guess. Just thought in the Internet age that people would be aware of the rest of the world. They know so much about our government... Guess they do not truly know our culture. Well, they know a bit more now, sadly the learning curve on American Culture is pretty steep, apparently. Hey world, we like dangerous things here in the U.S.! Beware! Pretty much, if you see something that we do that is really cool looking, put a 30 meter(metric for your benefit) buffer zone between you and it before you attempt it, for your safety of course.

Look at the tiny space for a show. This was waiting to happen. People had been killed before in such events, but humans never learn.

What gets me is the truck keeps going. Possibly throttle stuck? In the States they'd have concrete barriers set up for this type event.

This shit ain't no Monster Jam International for sure! Couple of amateurs, there were a lot of these risk takers back in the '80's early '90's. They usually were the sons of some local old metals plants, small time businesses who tried to make a few extra bucks. I remember it because i was very lucky as a kid when a "stunt" went wrong, while my dad and i were walking past such a spectacle, and a car that was driving on his 2 wheels drove out of the "ring", almost crushing us 2. Never forgot that moment. My respects for the deceased, and best of luck and well wishes to the victims.

Als eerste mijn medeleven voor nabestaanden en gewonden. Ik vind dat de burgemeester af moet treden!!!! Hij is eindverantwoordelijk en wist heus dat er een monstertruck in het spel was! Wist hij dit niet dan heeft hij zijn werk niet goed gedaan, heeft ie sowieso niet goed gedaan. Elkaar indekken en vriendjes politiek dat is waar men goed in is binnen de gemeenten, als men maar op de stoel kan blijven zitten en goedheiligman kan spelen voor meer als 100.000,- per jaar. Dit is mijn oordeel en hier zou U het mee moeten doen!

Why would they have the audience that close? In shows I've seen the monster trucks are in pits not the same level as the car

this accident basically had nothing to do with the driver, i know that he was charged and arrested for it but HE DID NOT KILL THEM ON PURPOSE.

cars can overrun those fences... this truck runs over cars.... where has the common-sense gone in this world? bystanders were way to close, 2 persons are reported dead, one of them is a child. 24 people injured and 6 of those very critical.... he didn't fall unconscious, the steering from the rear wheels was broken the throttle got stuck or the brakes broke, and the reason why he turned to the left was because he tried to turn back around but like i said earlier, the steering in the rear wheels was broken.

Alle ongelukken met deze Monster-Trucks gebeuren dat ze het publiek inrijden in de rijrichting dat ze over de autowrakken rijden, dit komt doordat de auto vrij komt van de grond en de klap op het onderstel moet worden opgevangen, op dat moment "stuitert" de auto en is hij in wezen ONBESTUURBAAR (bij neerkomen op de grond kan hij alle kanten op schieten, afhankelijk van de stand van de voorwielen en de remmen werken NIET, omdat er geen voldoende contact met de ondergrond is! Commentaar van het MTRA-bestuur was vernietigend: “Wij veroordelen het schandalige veronachtzaming van veiligheid van het publiek door de organisatoren van dit evenement. Hun gedrag is in strijd met, en onwetend van, de talloze veiligheidsmaatregelen die de MTRA in de afgelopen 30 jaar heeft voorgeschreven. Wij hopen dat het verlies aan levens iedereen in de monster truck industrie eraan herinnert aan het levensbelang van deze voorschriften."

Denk dat de burgemeester gemeente verantwoordelijk is als hoofd van de politie moet je beter weten

Ja en de bestuurder....de gene die wel ervaring heeft met deze trucks had zelf moeten inzien dat dit een onveilige situatie was en zijn verantwoordelijkheid moeten nemen en of afzien van deze Demo of bij de organisatie aanpassingen aangeven...in tegenstelling tot de Gemeente/Burgermeester/Politie welke dus geen ervaring hadden met deze Trucks...Jaaa die zijn verantwoordelijk...Niet het persoon met ervaring maar de personen zonder ervaring

het is duidelijk dat dit geen technisch mankement of andere reden is. je hoort dat de chauffeur gas blijft geven en niet eens remt.

Al die Amerikanen die hier op reageren..... Echt triest. Leef met die mensen mee! Het was inderdaad niet handig om het zo te doen, maar dan moeten ze niet zo gaan reageren. Echt ongelooflijk triest.....

I've seen articles doing the rounds on facebook stating the truck crashed well the footage says a different story .. The driver isnt at fault because his turning circle was hampered by the size of the arena and what followed was unavoidable ... , very sad RIP to the fallen , speedy recovery to the injured
