Scholars, decision-makers and leaders from China and abroad have gathered in Qufu, in eastern China's Shandong Province, to attend the 10th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations. Qufu is the birthplace of Confucius, the Chinese sage and educator who spawned a school of thought that has influenced China, Asia and the rest of the world across millennia.
How can Confucian thought be made more comprehensible to the outside world, especially to young people? What values can Confucianism convey to help address global challenges? In this edition of the Hub, Wang Guan sat down with Ong Tee Keat, president of the Belt and Road Initiative Caucus for Asia Pacific and former transport minister of Malaysia, and a keynote speaker at the forum, to discuss the legacy of Confucius in the contemporary world. "This forum has been a good eye-opener for people on the learning curve," he notes. He believes that Confucianism has been unfairly labeled. "Confucian thought and Chinese culture are inclusive and accommodating," he remarks, saying that China's Global Civilization Initiative aligns with Confucius's teachings. He calls for confidence in one's own civilization, noting that it's time to "demystify modernization through Westernization."

Even though Ong Teat Kee is an engineer yet he is well learned in many fields. He is fluent in three languages of Chinese, English and Malay.

He is also a party member of MCA, with a nickname of Money Controls All because they supported UMNO who bullys Chinese. Go check "popularity" of MCA and Ong Tee Keat. CGTN is promoting a Chinese traitor.
