Frey is the reason mute protagonists exist. No, seriouly, I'm not joking. 90% of Frey's lines of dialogue are literally the most superficial comments that go through the player's head. Good writers would realize that and think _"What's even the point? Let's just mute the protagonist and let the player come up with their own comments for their character."_ These writers, on the other hand, just decided _"Let's just make Frey say the most bland and superficial comments, as long as she adds the words 'fuck', 'shit' or 'goddamn' in the middle of the sentence."_

This exact mistake is one of the biggest mistakes made in a lot of games that could otherwise be much better, such as fallout 4. Having a voiced protagonist not only is unnecessary, it reduces the roleplay aspect to atoms and the dumbing down of the dialogue options just killed whatever atoms were left of it and reduced it to nothing. Four options with just bare minimum context to what you’re actually about to say. Even with the mod to fix that issue, the dialogue is so poorly written a lot of the time it just kills me.

What would've been better is if they said something like "I want to find homer, but the money is tempting" and have her walk slower with the money which means homer dies, and the player would've had to have made their own moral choice regarding keeping homer or the money, but no.

2:05 the sheer CONTEMPT in Zach's voice
This reminds me, when "super best friend's play" practically predicted most of what happened in Beyond 2 Souls, and then they made their own bingo card when they played Detroit Become Human, It goes to show you how bad these games can really be.

Not a lot of things make me laugh as much as the sudden twist reveal of the underwater Chinese ghost base at the end of Beyond and their reaction to it. Too bad they split up but I'm glad they're all still around.

At least those games had some effort put in, they arnt for everyone but i enjoyed the story of detroit at least, i dont mind the occasional interactive movie type game for days i just want to relax. This one however is just garbage on both story and gameplay

@@brandonwithnell612 the effort is merely filters installed by the studio financing the game, they saw what happened with Indigo Prophecy and Omikron.
Lyle's furious "I WAS JOKING" (0:41) sent me the first time I watched 😂

Nah it's more like Gen Z writing because you can see the snarky and quirky on the script.
Gonna hazard a guess that Lyle has seen enough writing that thinks it’s being clever, relatable and “OOOOOH SOOOO META!!” to just automatically predict the beats, tropes and overused lines that these hacks put out.
Chris’s writer strike joke made my big belly jiggle with laughter
In the newest episode they predicted the dragon is freys mom and that the cuff is evil.
It's a shame they didn't continue this game. Obviously it was like pulling teeth to keep playing, but them predicting was the freakin best part of it

Yeah, but I'm sure that would have gotten old and tiresome after a while anyway. It's why I'm glad they don't finish every single game they play. Just play enough to get what they want out of it, and if it's worth it to finish a game, because they're either genuinely enjoying the game play or there's more comedy or content to be had from it, then cool.

Do I have news for you buddy
I love that by the end they were still perfectly predicting everything but had pretty much resigned themselves to that fate lol. Lyle's depressed "yeah..." at the end perfectly encapsulates just what a dumpster fire this game was.
Ding Dong would SCREAM at this game
The best part about these moments is that the lines they predict always happen the literal instant after they’ve finished their prediction.
0:56 notice how the box looks way better than everything else in the room
What gets me is how most of the time the actual dialogue is somehow even WORSE than their predictions
"this writers should go on strike to get paid better" lmaaaaooooo
I have a feeling they stopped playing Forspoken because there is nothing left to take away from the next hour of gameplay. And I don't blame them for it. They could close their eyes and imagine the final half of the game and get the same experience out of it.
Zack's groans of agony are the best.
The in sync "oh my god lyle" at the end is so good
so typical of lyle the one eyed guy to be gifted the power of foresight
2:27 why did they word it so awkwardly, it’s like they tried to avoid saying it exactly how Lyle did
You're gonna need to make a part two. In the newest episode, they accurately predict the game's twist ending that they'll probably not play long enough to get to.
Legit the best part about the playthrough. So predictable the next awful thing that was going to happen
Hearing Zach tear into a game like the saints row remake and this game absolutely kills me. I need more
2:24 That "yeah..." at the end, he's not even mad, he's just disappointed.
"Your next line will be:"

Thats a kinda stupid analogy when the game already is terrible Josh Whedon writing. MCU capeshit slop makes both the Star Wars Sequels and even Prequels look like deep philosophical works writing wise.
Imagine writing so poorly that three people making fun of you are getting your lines right.
Zach going “ooooooooooooh my goddddddd” is perfect
You can follow Lyle's journey from denial to acceptance as the clips progress.
“*Chokes* I WAS JOKING!!” That reaction had me rolling
Forespokskin
How many people played this game and kept saying "OMG THE DIALOGUE IS THIS GAME WAS FREAKING MADE FOR ME!! so EPIC and QUIRKY!!" Like they saw the trailer where she said "There's flipping dragons??" and were like YES I NEED THIS GAME
we found the game's writers

I need them to play more of this game
0:40 I can almost hear the blood vessel in Lyle's head burst.
Lyle is a fucking prophet. I bet he wins the lottery every time he plays.
It’s comical how not only they managed to predict the dialogue multiple times, they also managed to always say it a second before it happens.
If I remember correctly, Charlie guessed the twist with the dragon correctly. I guess it goes to show how bad the writing was.
Little known fact, Lyle was one of the writers for this game. All the cringe dialog is his. He wrote it as a joke since he didn't think it was going to be kept in, but they kept all of it. He unknowingly blocked that terrible experience out of his mind like a childhood trauma event.
i love chris mocking lyle's shock sound 0:50 DAH-

Im honestly convinced alot of the time Companies do this because they know the temporary Internet will make the game seem exciting and controversial - making internet users play right into their hands by advertising their forgettable corporate slop for essentially free and keeping it relevant for a week.
I love how they became less and less enthusiastic about their predictions.
I wish they continued this just so we could laugh at them predicting all of the game
0:16 To be fair he only said “You threw a brick at me!” which… yeah is something you’ll yell when a brick is thrown at you
In that fire, she'd be dead of smoke inhalation and the fire being too hot in seconds, because fires do not work that way.
As someone who saw Smiling Friends before any Oneyplays videos, I hear Charlie whenever Zach speaks. I feel like if Charlie were to play this game, he’d have the same attitude about it as Zach.
