OnePlus Pad Go Review | A (Bit Too) Budget Tablet

Reviewing the OnePlus Pad Go, a more budget-friendly version of the original Android tablet that just launched in the UK. This £299 skinny slab is cheaper, but the OnePlus Pad Go also compromises with performance and that display, which is less stunning than the first tablet. Gamers, movie fans, photo editors etc should look to spend a bit more instead.
The OnePlus Pad Go still looks and feels good, with a slightly more compact design and a fresh two-tone finish. On the software front it's OxygenOS 13, with old Android - no Android 14 action just yet. Here's hoping that upgrade comes soon!
And also, sad news on the accessory front. The OnePlus Pad Go doesn't support that keyboard or stylus of the original tablet. So no, you can't turn it into a mini makeshift laptop on the go.
Gaming is possible on the OnePlus Pad Go although you'll want to stick to more basic apps like Call of Duty and PubG. Anything particularly taxing like Genshin Impact is a no-go. Battery life however seems to be better than before, possibly thanks to that more basic, energy efficient Helio chipset.

The number of comments about the screen color shows you how they are actually NOT watching the whole video. It was discussed on 5:08 and you still insist that eye protection mode is on smh.

Surely the screen is defective. Making it that red would be crazy. Either defective screen or a software bug that means you can't turn off reading mode even though it says it's off.

People who commented that "eye-protection/reading mode" is enabled must've stopped watching or didn't pay attention to the video once they saw how warm the display looks from the start.

The back end camera is for scanning a document on the go and uploading it to the cloud of your choice.
You sure it's not defective or buggy considering how red the screen is?

I've been using it for the last few weeks and honestly it performs very well. For my use case so far it's great. My screen isnt orange so not sure whats happening to your unit.

The lowered price isn't worth how much they cut back here. Thanks for the review. That warmth level is honestly gross. They need to fix that, but even then, just lacking.

The price seems a little silly, when compared to the Xiaomi Pad 6 or Honor Pad 9. I'd imagine that the price will quickly drop.

£260!!! You'd be better off buying a 2nd hand great condition Samsung Tab S7/S7FE (plenty about) and, you'll still get OS updates for it for that price! Better screen, better specs, WAY BETTER SOUND... Just better over all... Heck, even my old Tab S5e is STILL performing well, and I'm STILL enjoying that gorgeous OLED screen too! 😏 😎🇬🇧

The fact that these people don't know what eye comfort mode is baffles me and no he never turns it off, he just lowers the vividness slider which is a different thing. The fact that Uncle Spurt can't turn off the eye comfort shield is quite funny tho.

Here are some: Xiaomi pad 5 pro 12'4 (12'4 , €330+€80) Tab s7 fe (12'4 , €400+pen included) Xiaomi pad 6 (11'0 , €300+€80) Tab s6 lite (10'4 , €220+pen included) You could probably also find the tab s7 plus (12'4) in almost new condition at just around your budget. There's also that new 11.5 huawei pad specialized for artists with an insane pen and display, aswell as a dedicated procreate clone which destroys all the ones mentioned above, no idea how to buy it though lol. Samsung has a better pen but worse performance which you'll only notice when using a bunch of layers or drawing on a large canvas

@@DragunnitumGaming I would recommend you getting an ipad for drawing if you are welling to spend 100$ or so more, but if not, Your next best option is samsung 9 FE you can find it for 450$ with the pen included
Would like to see if other reviewer's units are just as warm colored. At least it wasn't because he was drunk and didn't notice. Good job.
128GB isn't enough. Moving apps to SD card sucks.
Not sure if it's just the POV from the camera, but DAMN that screen is REALLY orange.

Turn the eye comfort mode off, it makes the screen look awfully red
That display is truly awful. Strange size of the pad also... I think Uncle Spurt was too kind on this one.

I have the OnePlus Pad and the aspect ratio is the same. It's awesome and not a toy in 16:10 format.
If there is no mode on and the screen still looks that orange, that's unacceptable. Like why would OnePlus even release something like this.

What weak soc uncle i played alien isolation on this tab smooth 40ish fps in most scenarios and played almost all Netflix games, grish any other story based games and it handles cloud gaming nicely

@@gutwallst6645 Even without the orange screen the specs are pretty much the same as the Amazon tablet, but it's more expensive. FireOS does suck but you can install the Google Play store in minutes and then the FireOS doesn't really matter. It's not a separate OS, it's still Android.
