you brought up the exsact reason I havent bought a foldable simply price to perfomance is okay they are just lacking in camera quality and durability which is kinda dissapointing considering they cost more than a normal flagship

I've noticed that if you go into the display settings on the Open and set it to "Vivid", it looks almost exactly like the Z Fold 5's display in terms of punchiness. I much prefer it that way and recommend giving it a try.

I've just replaced my pixel fold with a OnePlus Open. Very pleased overall, the screen quality is just stunning, and the lack of crease. Camera wise, I prefer the OnePlus, especially the zoom, even lossless at 6x is better than the 5x of the pixel for my uses. I do miss some of the elements of Pixel launcher though.

@@VenturaUitz From the time I've used it, I think the overall colour theme works from the wallpaper you've chosen, but you can choose the use interface colours from thes settings screen as well.

How is the operating system for the 1 plus open?

Really enjoyed the video. Best one I have seen comparing all 3 foldables. The video has a nice flow. I really enjoyed that you didn't rush through it. Very natural and enjoyable to watch. Just subscribed.

Even I as an s23 ultra owners and samsung fan I admit Samsung has to work very hard with the z fold 6 because the competition has risen with the one plus open , Xiaomi Mix fold 3, and huawei . Innovation is a must. Although Samsung has my favorite software due to features like samsung tv , samsung health , Dex, Samsung members, samsung flow, customizable keyboard between g board and samsung keyboard , good lock , operation etc

Why is selfie camera so jittery on the Open...

Really impressed about the build quality raving about the oNeplus Open by reviewers, so the Oppo Find N3 Foldable is also the same right? Just the software change on the oneplus open from the Find N3.. I prefer OPPO to Oneplus mainly cuz their battery quality is much better.... So which one do you prefer? Oppo Find N3Fold or the oneplus open? ....

@@NBTJacklyn nice! I switch between my iPhone 15 Pro Max and Pixel 8 Pro every few days. I love both ecosystems but iPhones battery life is way better.

hardware is good but i don't like one plus ui after oxygen os 11.

Great review. The camera is amazing on my open. By far better than any phoneninuses. Open is bonkers great!

ive had mine almost a month and the camera has been incredible i have over 1.7million photos in my google photos and few hundred thousand in icloud and then harddrives full.

Love your video! The unbias analysis made me a fan! What urks my soul about some bloggers and media about this phone compared to the oneplus open...umm...WE DO REMEMBER THAT THE PURPOSE OF THE OUTSIDE SCREEN ISN'T TO GIVE YOU A BIG SCREEN. Been an iPhone user for many years just got a Samsung fold 5 and impressed also the watch 6. That's something to bear in mind as Samsung has the integrated watch which is great. I know pixel has on but very impressed with the watch. Also water proofing is much better on the fold 5 then the open.

Excellent video as always! Really love your content! Today’s been kind of rough, so nice to relax and just watch nerd videos about foldables, which are currently pretty much the thing I am most excited about when it comes to phones. Out of those three I would definitely take the OnePlus Open, partially because the Pixel is not available in Canada (boo!) and I just like the form factor better. I currently have a 6.1” iPhone 14 Pro and I am a very avid user of my M1 11” iPad Pro. I could be proven wrong, but at least for the moment I feel I get much more out of my iPad with a larger screen and a Logitech keyboard case. Love it for taking notes in class, watching TV/KZread (larger display and better speakers than the iPhone) and editing photos on it is the best.

i think you are wrong when it comes to the camera i have been testing them against these other flagships even phones with 1 inch sensors and it actually has more detail or right on par. i think its the person thats taking the photos. I have a Sony xperia 1 V with my one plus open and ive had all the chinese flagships and the oneplus open is on par with the 1 inch sensor flagships.

Camera quality is a subjective matter nowadays. Sometimes I like more a midrange camera vs S23 ultra camera so what one plus has given camera raw power to a folding phone is amazing. If you properly use the camera you can take wonderful shots from it. I like what one plus come back this year with 2 or 3 amazing devices this year , op11, 11R and open. Great job one plus👍👍👍

Nice comparison. The only reason I purchased the oneplus open and not the pixel fold was Google not taking full advantage of the bigger screen via multiscreen options, which the oneplus does really well. I'm surprised at your camera results (especially the night video) which looks shaky and bad. Mine's far better in all light conditions. Is yours the latest retail version?

Still feel like I would spread my money this way. A tablet and a candybar phone.

So I haven't been lucky enough to test out at a foldable but something i've always wondered is how does the inside screen feel? Think most of us are used to the glass feel of regular phones does the inside foldable screen feel different; plasticky? maybe? really curious also love your vids : )

No it doesn't if you take of the screen protector that's what makes it feel like that I'm referring to the z fold and yes its perfectly fine taking it off I always do

@@jasonelliot9633 can't comment on videos.. because c'mon pictures are way cooler. And the open takes GREAT pictures. On par with p8pro/s23 for everyday photos. Night shots are great, idk what these reviewers are doing to say low light photos suck

Great video - I nearly pre- ordered the Oneplus Open, but then saw M’s review - the dead pixels changed my mind, as I was unsure on the support that OP would supply. I went for the Pixel Fold, and as a long standing iPhone user, it was an easy transition.

Oneplus , a small company?

The Fold 5 was my first foldable. I absolutely love it. Unparalleled app optimization, great cameras, DeX and the fact that I'm so deep in the Samsung ecosystem ( watch, earbuds, tv and tablet) are the main reasons I chose it over other foldable options. Lastly, I actually prefer the slim outer screen for more mundane tasks like replying to messages, scrolling through my feed, taking notes with S Pen etc.

It is excellent that we have choices now. I do not like the Galaxy Fold as I do a lot of typing and do not want to open it every five minutes, so the narrow display on the Galaxy makes my experience much worse. I replaced my Galaxy Fold 4 with a Pixel Fold, and now typing or dictating (Pixel 10X better than Galaxy) is an enjoyable, more productive experience. Each to their own.

I have seen many reviews, and although I agree that OnePlus has the better hardware, we must recognize the software. Those reviews prove that hardware is only part of the be-all-end-all. From the collection I have seen, my take is that the OnePlus has the better zoom, but its wide and ultra-wide are behind. Most of us use the primary camera for photos and videos, so some people may prefer the Pixel of Galaxy with their superior software.

This is confusing indeed. Especially the comment about the fold 5 having a better camera. Most reviews say the Open has the best but some say the Pixel still holds the crown. This is the first time I've seen a reviewer say the Open is behind the fold 5. Looking at the picture comparisons from multiple reviewers, I agree with the general sentiment. The fold 5 is in a clear distant third place and whether Google or OnePlus wins depends on what you're looking for in a camera.

The inner display of the Samsung Galaxy z fold 5 is much better then the OnePlus open fold Samsung Galaxy inner display quality is way better than the OnePlus open fold so I definitely go for Samsung Galaxy the hand feel is so satisfying on Samsung Galaxy

Oneplus are bad on updates my open still has january update and no android 14 in sight , seeing as the mother company oppo has android 14 , all oneplus now is only a firmware company as every phone now is just a clone of oppo phones , many reviews say how great the open is but oneplus have done nothing

That's the Oppo Find N3. Third Gen phone, Rebranded for OnePlus to work in the states. I like the phone but not praising OnePlus because it's not their created device.😮

It looks like you didn't even install the lastest update one the Open and some of the pictures you included in this video from the OnePlus Open was bad with no specific focus points like the ones you included from the Pixel. My videos and pictures from my OnePlus Open looks way better than the ones you included in this video. It kinda seemed like a rush review.

I love my z fold 3 but its hard to recommend. Im on my third one

Great comparison, I'd choose the Pixel Fold if I had to but I'd prefer the Pixel 8 pro for durability . However, I do use bifocals being 52 years old and a nice fold would be helpful. My Pixel 6 though has some accessibility apps and it's not like I'm blind, it's just more comfortable with them. Plus a Fold is awesome for Ebooks. Great job! You got me thinking! ☕

I only jumped ship to the oneplus open from zf5 because of Samsungs inability to bring a flagship camera and an IR blaster. Samsung has lost touch of its customer base and why people buy Samsung.

Samsung foldables are build poorly they will crack down the middle after a year they cannot with stand opening and closing too many times they are really nice phones but make you sure you get insurance on any foldable
