Coming from the Samsung Z fold 4 he isn't wrong. Only got my Open a mth ago but so far it's awesome wider screen on the outside display so much better at texting user friendly. Also got the watch 2 and buds. Waiting on Samsung to do better.. this OP open is what the Fold5 should of been.

for me the choice was easy - the size of the front screen is what makes most of the difference for me - I have been a Samsung Galaxy owner for many years now and my last Galaxy was a S23 Ultra - I love Samsung's UI but having a screen that narrow as the one on the Z Fold 5 was just not an option so the choice was easy, I got the OnePlus Open and it is, hands down, most definitely THE best folding phone out there, but if Samsung launches a Fold 6 with maybe a 6.5 front screen and then also a bigger inner display well... hmm., maybe I'll go back - but not until I've seen what a OnePlus Open 2 would look like.

Totally with you on that one but I am currently daily driving the Honor V2 and it's even lighter and better on the front but the OnePlus open is brilliant. I am excited for the Samsung Fold 6 if they get the dimensions right.

I liked the one plus open when I had it but ended up sticking with the fold 4 due to the comfortability. I found the OnePlus open uncomfortable to hold due to the large camera hump. There were also no cases that I found that made it comfortable. I look forward to see what the new foldables look like this year

How is screen recording?? If you start screen recording with the phone folded can you unfold the phone to continue screen recording and vice versa??

I just tested this for you, unfortunately you can't. At least on the latest update as of 1/21/24. If you start a screen recording, than either open or close the phone, it automatically stops the screen recording and saves to gallery. That's going from open to close, or close to open. Plenty of third party screen recording apps that might do this though.

That's a good question. At this time, no the V2 continues to impress me. This is the best foldable at the moment!

I happened to think the z fold 5 is better. Way more features, support, software and ecosystem for the money!!

Yeah that's fair I love the Samsung phones and ecosystem but I just do not like the Z 5 form factor. I think they have it wrong and will change it over time. Then it will become awesome.

All the bad things about the phone can be solved with a little tweak.
