    there is no battery that will last 7 years anyways, I don't see a problem in 4 year support. if you wanna stick with the same model, android phones are basically half price after 2 years or so, not even 2 in some cases. 7 years is just a marketing move and that's all to it

    @@lukatamadze One of the good things about Oneplus is that they produce and provide spare parts for cheap AND a long time. I could order a new battery for my 7pro for around 30$ :) . But the original battery still holds up very well despite a heavy usage during nearly 5 years.

  • @lukatamadze

    @lukatamadze

    5 ай бұрын

    @@nastystone2931 any spare parts are provided for a long time nowadays, that barely makes it justifiable to make updates coming for 7 years just to keep up with marketing competition. also it's not really profitable for company, especially in case of OnePlus when everything is cut price to max. they have been avoiding buying license for water resistant certification for years to not bump phone price any further. longer updates also raises price, which comes down to paying more. just upgrade, enjoy newest features and keep it fresh. android for me means more freedom in what I do, if your hardware is old it gets quite frustrating and I'm pretty sure I don't belong to minority in that case

    The "proprietary" 50Watt wireless charging is the worst possible thing to complain about especially being that you can use other wireless chargers for 15 Watt charging which is the SAME SPEED AS OTHER WIRELESS CHARGING PHONES

    Exactly, Samsung charges 20-30 dollars for a wired 45w charger, that they don't put in the box. Oneplus can charge at the same speed as other phones but can provide the luxury of 50w wireless charging if you buy theirs, if we're comparing stuff then Oneplus's wireless charger has the same value/even more value than Samsung's wired charger. Same-ish speed but more advanced tech

    Iv used the s24 ultra, the 24 plus the iPhone 15 pro max and the OnePlus 12. The OnePlus 12 offers 95 plus percent of what the others do for as much as 50 percent less cost. It's easily the fastest and smoothest out of all of them. Its screen is the brightest, and for me still has a slightly curved screen which I prefer. I'm keeping the OnePlus 12 and the others are going back. Well except the iPhone, which unfortunately I am forced to use for work. @@Monster_DN the OnePlus 12 is easily the best value for money. It's the smoothest of the 3. It's not the best camera but it's still great. Like, doesn't EVERY phone manufacturer require you to buy a wireless charger if you want one? And like you said, youre still welcome to buy a 3rd party 15w charger like with any other phone, but the difference here is that you CAN buy the 50w wireless charger if you want it, which NO ONE ELSE offers. 🤷 Also the 24GB RAM/1TB configuration isn't available outside of China

    I'm switching from an s23u to an OP12, largely because of the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. I know everyone says ultrasonic is better, but this one sure isn't for me. I'm assuming that's because my hands are usually very dry. I had more luck with the Pixel 8 Pro's optical FPS. And even my pixel 6 Pro's FPS was more reliable than my s23u's! Also the side mounted FPS sounds like a good idea, but when you combine it with face unlock, I don't think it's that good. I have the ASUS ZenFone 10, and often I'll try the fingerprint, and it will fail, so I'll try again, but while trying again, the face unlock will unlock the phone, so when I actually press the power button, it locks the phone again! That's can't happen with an in-display FPS. I'd much prefer to go back to a capacitive FPS on the rear of the phone. They were always the best for me.

And apps usually work on ~7 versions old Android versions. So it's a non issue.

    If you're still interested. It's 27W max with PD. Even with PPS chargers. Funny how: it's still faster than Samsung 45W because OnePlus charges these 27W constantly till max. No drops to 10

    Generally people change their phone at 2 years or 3years. Just to have the latest gadgets. So having 4 years OS updates is more than sufficient. Dont get the fingerprint thing. The wireless charging one is also not a set back. Atleast they give a charger. A 100w charger Other brands dont even give charger. I just dont like tt it is curve screen tts abt it.

  • @rudi5764

    It is not about how long security updates are offered, most people will not use a smartphone for more than 4 years. The issue with OnePlus is the SPEED or FREQUENCY at which these updates are offered. They are slow, and even after discovery of new major security issues, it takes way too long for these updates to make it into the phones. Samsung, Google, Apple win in this regard. For that reason, I am glad to spend a couple hundred bucks more for a phone and get an Apple or Samsung, but this is up to everyone to decide.

    I believe u should not criticize the finger print scanner by its specs . Me, as a user, do not care what's inside. I do care how it works. If this optical sxanner works worse , then ultra sonic in Pixel, ok , that's a minus . As far as i know it's 80% depending on software rather than hardware. But a good point .

    No AI is a big concern! Equally annoying on OP12 is actually lack of customizing! It's very limited, no fancy lock screens like on Xiaomi/Poco with new Hyper OS and no Themes store either which is the best part of any Xiaomi/Poco. It gets even worse when you get to know that Oxygen OS is actually only a version of Oppo's Color OS but a stripped down version where customizing is the one they took away to keep the old name Oxygen OS. It's a stupid move, practically a Color OS on OnePlus phones without the great ways to personalize your phone! This is all happening only because Oxygen OS fanboys pressured OnePlus bosses to make a bad decision, a terrible compromise 😵
