Thanks Tim - This will be massive for where I work. We have access to Tableau via a third party intermediary remoting into their server. Wanted to access SharePoint Connector but intermediary was resistant to installing the driver on their system. New connector means I no longer need the driver and now able to directly access my team's SharePoint files instead of manually connecting Excel files.

SharePoint lists are in 22.3 as well video coming soon.
Hi Tim. Thank you for filming this video tutorial on SharePoint connectors. It so happens that SharePoint is a common tool in our community clinic health care sector, and is used for a variety of metrics. We are going to begin migration shortly to Tableau Online, so an update on this topic would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

It’s been updated I just haven’t had time to update with a new video. My videos are always a starting point. Head to tableau’s documentation on connectors for the most up to date final world
Hey Tim, thanks for the video, very helpful. Is this connection a live connection then? So if you were to update say an excel file in sharepoint, it would reflect those changes in tableau?
Hi Tim, love the videos and your channel! Wondered what’s the benefit of using this connector Vs. using excel connector after syncing the one drive to windows explorer and connecting?
Hi, @Tim.Your video was so informative. curious to know how to get multiple CSV files inside a document library?? And with due respect, On the data source section, you will get the option "Field names are in first row".
Great vid. Thanks!!
Hi Tim, Any tips on connecting to the SharePoint list?
Thanks Tim🤝
Tim, can you do that with SharePoint Lists too?
Thank you!
Thank you for the video. Please I have a concern, when I make a news post I can see just the number of people who have seen that news but how to see the person who has seen that news please, that is to say see the name of all the people who have seen the news in question. If you have already made a video on it, can you share the link with me? Thanks in advance
Hi, I'm a Power BI user learning Tableau. In Power BI one can connect to a Sharepoint folder, and combine all the files if they are about the same structure. I can't understand how to achieve this with Tableau... Is there a way to do it directly on Tableau, or do I need to prepare the data first ?
Hi Tim, idk if you have found a solution for the csv file, but you can drag your mouse over the table display in the model pane, you'll see a down-arrow appear. Then you have a few options like the "Text File Properties" . If you click on it, you will be able to decide the field separator, that will change the file structure in the preview and you'll be able to use the file correctly. Is that what you were looking for ?

Is there a possible way to do this in Tableau Prep? I have an excel file currently connected and there is no option for Data Interpretation. Thank you
can we post a CSV file from the tableau to Sharepoint. SO instead of clicking crosstab>download and uploding the file to sharepoint, can we automate this task w tableau?
Hi Tim, I connected to this new connector ,but I am not able to publish the report, it asks me to make changes on the Tableau server "My account settings" and when I go there trying to add credentials I get this error "Custom OAuth is not configured for this datasource. Learn more. (errorCode=170001)", Please help
Hey Tim, are you familiar with Error Code 4D5A7A3C? I'm running 2023.3 and the error I receive is Couldn't start OAuth Server with the error code previously mentioned. Not sure what I can do to fix this.
Hi Tim - Do u know who has to approve the request, in my org instead of asking for password in the browser, it is saying "This app requires your admin's approval" and giving Request Approval button when trying to use new Onedrive & Sharepoint Online Connector. Above issue solved, after sharepoint admin allowed tableau app to connect to sharepoint. With this we are just able to connect to only documents on sharepoint, not the backend tables. We are still not able to Sharepoint online using the dedicated Sharepoint lists driver, for us we are getting unauthorized error using the lists driver to connect to Sites on Sharepoint Online. Please let us know if u can connect, what should be done on sharepoint side to resolve unauthorized issue.

I am facing the similar issue, were you able to resolve it?
Hi tim, if i have one file in the client's one drive, and we cannot see the file in the shared file with me. Is this because the file is in another one drive ?

It’s probably a share point location synced through one drive. This happens a lot. Double check it’s actually one drive. Usually in a business context share point uses one drive but you’ll need to use the sharp point connection to see the file. Failing that it could be you have permission to view but not download the file . That would also block you
I am connected to an excel on ondrive, how do I update my data in tableau, thanks

If it’s an extract then just refresh the extract. There are many guides online for this. I have if you search.
Tableau does not support oauth2, so what's the point?

Not sure i understand what youre saying but it might be worth checking help.tableau.com/current/online/en-gb/connected_apps_eas.htm or specificlay for connection validate with Support that your configuration isn't supported.

HI. Making a connection from a client to SharePoint Online using Modern Authentication fails every time and so far Tableau support has not been able to help. We can make a connection to the tenant using CData.
