"Self-Reliance" is an 1841 essay written by American transcendentalist philosopher and essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson. It contains the most thorough statement of one of Emerson's recurrent themes: the need for each individual to avoid conformity and false consistency, and follow his own instincts and ideas. This channel will approach self reliance from a modern perspective. and will focus on various build projects using modern amenities, and tools to build a completely self reliant lifestyle.
Many people ask me where I am from and where I film my projects. I am from Northern Ontario, Canada, and live in an area where off-grinding is easy because I have lots of land to build on and experiment with different buildings and materials. Everything I do is to try to be more self reliant, and to depend less on others. But that doesn't mean I don't like working together with other people on projects. Knowing people who have skills is part of being self reliant, and trading skills is a great way to get more things done!

    Kevin: Eco Flo was the only battery pack that advertised that it would support CPAP machines. I own a River Max and have solar panels to recharge it. We live in an area where electrical service can be listed for an extended period of time. Thank you for all the extra technical background.

    EcoFlow definitely has great power banks, just a tad expensive is all. Appreciate the info on the Pro, I have the River right now, and a Jackery. Love what you're doing 😊

    @austinw8079 I like the River moreso, they are both great power supplies, but the River is longer lasting in my applications. I use them for weekend stays in a couple different cabins. They handle lights, phone chargers, and a small water heater. Hope this helps.

    Honestly I should have went with the self builds done by will prowse. The solar input is incredibly limiting. This is ok for vanlife and can run a DC ac good enough if you have more batteries...but the self builds for solar allows up to 500v (vs 150v delta pro) of voc solar! I highly recommend people to consider the solar input which means the self builds are better.

    I'm disappointed with my Delta Pro. KZreadrs never test sustained solar at 1.6kW input. They tend to focus on the output. My unit accepts the max input for a little while, but then drops to 900W of input. It apparently can't handle sustained 1.6kW solar input. For someone with a single 400w mobile solar panel, this unit would be fine. Someone with a larger solar array should look elsewhere.

    Kindly look around internet, I have once watched a clip where this kinda problem is solved with just the way the solar panel should be connected to achieve the said 1.6kva

    This EcoFlow unit is NOT certified to IEC 60601-1 or EN60601-1-2:2015, 4th Ed. This thing is not even certified to UL-1741 standards. So it should never be used to safely power CPAP devices or any medical device for that matter.

    Help please…….I live in the mountains and I work 12 hours a day. My van gets to cold for my delta pro. I thought of putting my heating blanket on it but don’t want my van to burn down if something goes wrong. What do you do to keep your system from freezing. It’s too cold to charge now

    I bought EcoFlow balcony solar power plant with 3.600W Delta Pro storage, 800W inverter and 2 x 480W Bluesun (37.1V) solar panels. When the power plant is connected throw inverter to the network, can I connect the third panel, which is not part of the solar plant ,with a power of 480W (37.1V) directly in the XT60 input to the Delta Pro for extra charging?

    A lot of errors were made in this video. The port you pointed to at the back of the device are for connecting to extra battery banks (can have up to 2). There is another port on the side of the device that connects to the bonding adapter that connects 2 delta pros together.

    What happens to a lightweight solar panel if and when its windy ?? They look so flimsy I suspect a good breeze will destroy them. But please let me know if | am wrong

  • @pb7133

    @pb7133

    They are not that flimsy. Would have to be some strong wind to blow over. Sure it’s possible but they are rugged. Btw I got the bigger one, not that little one.

  • @lauriepearce8266

    @lauriepearce8266

    @@pb7133 I have looked at the EcoFlow website. They do not give the physical dimensions of the charging panels. Have you ever tried carrying a piece of sheet material in a strong breeze? Difficult to say the least. For a solar panel to be efficient it needs to be facing the sun. I have noted other narrowboat Utube contributors saying they need to be in the open for their fixed panels to charge their onboard battery. Some years back I decided to fix solar panels to our touring caravan and added a additional battery . Our idea was to be independent of site power supplies. It was a expensive failure. The current drawn by the fridge soon flattened both batteries especially if it had been a over cast day. I am not saying that these units are not useful but all the uses of them I have seen are either low currents draws or intermittent loads. . Some of the other Utube canal boats channels also have similar units one being the Jackery. The latest video was by Ben and Emily with a larger Jackery unit. They stress recharging from either shore power, or their boat or vehicle engine, using solar is tacked on the end . I would enjoy having the use of any brand of one of these units and subjecting it to a test charge discharge cycle and producing some realistic real world figures. A process I am very familiar with having installed hundreds of battery banks along with charging and testing and checking their efficiency during their lifetime. Taking into their cost if I needed portable power I would invest in one of the small suitcase generators. Far less initial cost and dependable day or night.

    Did ecoflow write the script? These ads seem so scripted. And are the demographics here dense or why do you have to plug in a bunch of different power tools on their own, it's just wattage rating that matters.

    Most KZreadrs you people who record themselves talking to a camera write scripts for themselves so they don’t cut the footage a lot or sound like a rookie. It sounds scripted because it is but not by the company. If you like a product wouldn’t you want to get your message across?
