Just had to add my comment since this saved my ass. Had a speed sensor bolt that broke off in the steering knuckle. It was a fairly small 10mm bolt head to give you an idea. Used a 3/32 drill bit and a smaller T10 torx (figured I'd start there and go bigger if I needed). Didn't drill too deep for fear of not drilling perfectly straight, worked like a charm. Thought I'd throw my testimonial and numbers here in case it helps

Great vid and very informative. I had a similar situation with an exhaust bolt. What helped me was using a left hand drill bit. It hollowed out the hole as well as loosing it up. As soon as I put the easy out in the bolt it was loose enough to loosen by hand .

Now I'm saling car repair tools including screw extraclors. kzread.info/dash/bejne/X316q6mwisbRpJM.html The only problem of TORX, if finally it will get broken inside hole it will be double trouble to extract it. So, doing this way should be very carefull with the torque you use for unscrewing.

I used this method with limited success using an impact rated T30 bit. While trying to remove one broken stud which was below the surface, I managed to snap off the end of the bit. I just happened to have a 7mm diamond core bit handy (about $8). While time consuming, I was able to drill and expose enough of the broken bit to remove it. Hope someone finds this rescue tip helpful.

@@yousufmusthaneer9738 Do as he did, use 3mm and then 4mm, and don't forget to use lubricant before final step of removal.
Getting broken bolts out is so satisfying
This worked for me perfectly. I used a smaller size drill bit and a smaller size torx.

Yes, man! Many tools come to make working easier. In 2000 I was working as a mechanic and did it same way.
Bonjour et merci énormément sa ma sauvé la vie vraiment le top vous êtes un génie bonne continuation merci encore
I thought I've seen it all ,good one.

Best part about this technique is that it can be applied to left and right-handed bolts.
No no no. Must use left turn drill. I have had them spin out before using easyout. A right turn drill drives in further.

I am curious as to why threads that clean would have caused a bolt to snap from extraction?
🙂 I can use this! THANKS!
I will try this on my brake caliper bolt that broke on my knuckle 😢 thank you very much
I used this method with limited success using an impact rated T30 bit.
