I deconstructed/reconstructed my faith and had nearly the same cultural hurdles as Dr. Worthen that I had to overcome. I highly recommend challanging the Western zeitgeist to all people; the catharsis gained is incomparable.

Although there is a religion called Christianity, those who have developed a relationship with God the Father usually don't practice it. That is One of the Biggest Differences. Those who are "Christians" because they were born into a"Christian" family, have performed the rituals required to be "Christian", and other assorted things are amongst those who leave "Christianity". When God says that there is Nothing that can remove us from His hand we ourselves will never be the Something that is Stronger than the Nothing. When we have tasted life and life more abundantly none of us will ever go back to the dull life of constantly trying to find satisfaction.

The thing is there is no way for new people to hear about the spirituality you enjoy without some sort of religion. You yourself will probably develop some kind of tradition of handing on your beliefs to your children. That is called religion.

The difference is that it is the ONLY TRUTH AND ONLY WAY TO ETERNAL LIFE. JESUS IS HIS NAME.

Is it the desperation of adherents to keep it relevant despite being obviously false?

Since this was a question, I'll answer yes. But whether it is "false" or not is contextual. Whatever it is that you believe, I'm sure I can show that it is "false".

You should research these issues. You might be surprised.

@@RustyWalker Thanks, I'm not sure what I believe now... (Gödel) Coincidentally, few moments ago I was thinking it is all a fable - and I am a fable...

Same desperation which drives unbelievers to waste their time leaving arrogant comments on Christian videos which if they really were sure were false they would simply ignore and focus their attention on something that actually interests them. They aren’t sure but act like they are.
