One vaccine dose and two viral variants

Safety and Efficacy of the BNT162b2 mRNA Covid-19 Vaccine
www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056...
NEJM, (December 31st)
A two-dose regimen of BNT162b2 conferred 94.8% protection against Covid-19 in persons 16 years of age or older
After 1 dose, efficacy = 52.4%
NEJM, (17th February)
But if you take data after 2 weeks ….
www.nejm.org/doi/pdf/10.1056/...
One Pfizer dose, vaccine efficacy of 92.6% (based on FDA data)
One Moderna dose, vaccine efficacy of 92.1% (based on FDA data)
Uncertainty about duration of protection with a single dose
Administration of a second dose within 1 month, little added benefit in the short term
Leaving high risk groups completely unprotected
Postponement of the second dose is a matter of national security that,
if ignored, will certainly result in thousands of Covid-19-related hospitalizations and deaths this winter in the United States
hospitalizations and deaths that would have been prevented with a first dose of vaccine.

Vaccine passports
Professor Dominic Wilkinson, Medical Ethics, Oxford University
I think there’s a strong ethical case for exploring immunity passports as a way forward, as a way of looking forward to more freedoms
open up some options in travel that are not there at the moment
If there was good evidence that you weren’t at risk of spreading the virus,
such a passport might then allow you to be waived from quarantine.”
would be a cost to waiting until more people are immunised to roll out the passports.

These vaccines do not stop infection and are not safe, in fact they are unnecessary, cases are plummeting without vaccination, Spain, U.S, Sweden, India Everyone is ignoring naturally occurring T cell immunity, seasonality of respiratory infections and the fact that this 'virus' is not as deadly as its made out to be. All cause mortality for 2020 is not significantly greater than previous years Yet this virus is supposedly so deadly and spreads like wild fire, yet the numbers don't support that Covid has taken lives though many deaths were also falsely attributed to Covid So we have a pathogen that predominantly targets the over 70's who have weakened immune systems, serious co morbidities They wish to vaccinate the entire world with experimental vaccines for an infection that 99.8% recover from naturally (CDC) How does it make sense?

@@robert4you Research surrounding mRNA vaccines isn’t something entirely new. It’s just that this is the first mRNA vaccine that has been accepted to be distributed throughout out the western world. Once exposed (released from any carrier molecule), mRNA has a short half-life. Given its rapid degradation by cellular endonucleases, it's not conceivable that it can stick around long enough to cause direct effects for a long period of time. Any long-term or delayed effects would have to be the result of the immune response to the mRNA, not the mRNA itself.

Testing for Dead Viruses Will Ensure Everlasting Lockdowns To circle back to the Curative PCR test, the company argues that the test is accurate when it comes to detecting active infection, and as CEO Fred Turner told Buzzfeed:19 “If you’re screening for a return to work and you’re picking up everyone who had COVID two months ago, no one’s going to return to work. If you want to detect active COVID, what the ‘early’ study shows is that Curative is highly effective at doing that.” Again, this has to do with the fact that the Curative spit test has a sensitivity resembling that of a nasopharyngeal PCR set at a CT of 30. The lower CT count narrows the pool of positive results to include primarily those with higher viral loads and those who are more likely to actually carry live virus. This is a good thing. What the FDA wants Curative to do is to widen that net so that more noninfectious individuals can be labeled as a “case.” In an email to Buzzfeed, Dr. Michael Mina, an epidemiologist at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, stated that using a CT of 45 is “absolutely insane,” because at that magnification, you may be looking at a single RNA molecule, whereas “when people are sick and are contagious, they literally can have 1,000,000,000,000x that number.”20 Mina added that such a sensitive PCR test “would potentially detect someone 35 days post-infection who is fully recovered and cause that person to have to enter isolation. That’s crazy and it’s not science-based, it’s not medicine-based and it’s not public health-oriented.”21 While the FDA has issued a warning not to use the Curative spit test on asymptomatic people, Florida has dismissed the warning and will continue to use the test on symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals alike. Only Miami-Dade County is reconsidering how it is using the test, although a definitive decision has yet to be announced.22 The Lower the CT, the Greater the Accuracy While the FDA claims high sensitivity (meaning higher CT) is required to ensure we don’t end up with asymptomatic spreaders in our communities, as reviewed above, this risk is exceedingly small. We really need to stop panicking about the possibility of healthy people killing others. It’s not a sane trend, as detailed in “The World Is Suffering from Mass Delusional Psychosis.” According to an April 2020 study23 in the European Journal of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases, to get 100% confirmed real positives, the PCR test must be run at just 17 cycles. Above 17 cycles, accuracy drops dramatically. By the time you get to 33 cycles, the accuracy rate is a mere 20%, meaning 80% are false positives. Beyond 34 cycles, your chance of a positive PCR test being a true positive shrinks to zero. Similarly, a December 3, 2020, systematic review24 published in the journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases, which assessed the findings of 29 different studies, found that “CT values were significantly lower … in specimens producing live virus culture.” In other words, the higher the CT, the lower the chance of a positive test actually being due to the presence of live (and infectious) virus. “Two studies reported the odds of live virus culture reduced by approximately 33% for every one unit increase in CT,” the authors noted. Importantly, five of the studies included were unable to identify any live viruses in cases where a positive PCR test had used a CT above 24. In cases where a CT above 35 was used, the patient had to be symptomatic in order to obtain a live virus culture. This again confirms that PCR with a CT over 35 really shouldn’t be used on asymptomatic people, as any positive result is likely to be meaningless and simply force them into isolation for no reason.

Dr. John, regarding Texas: every so many years, there will be a phenomenon called a polar vortex. It happens in winter, when the North pole starts warming up, which pushes frigid air southward. This week, it's been bitterly cold in the Southern regions of the U.S. Texas, for some reason that I don't remember, has it's own power grid, unlike the majority of the lower 48 states. It's this grid that has been majorly messed up by the polar vortex. Today, those frozen houses thawed out, revealing burst water pipes. Water was flowing every where in some of these home and commercial buildings, resulting in fires. So, now families have become homeless. Please pray for those affected at the worst possible time. I fear little children are among those affected badly, due to small fat reserves. These families are now either burned out, or flooded out, so they are having to go into "super-spreader" type shelters. Houston is one of the 5 largest cities in the U.S

The COVID-19 is not at all like the FLU vaccine. Here is how the COVID vax works. 1) The CV19 vax uses mRNA (messaging ribonucleic acid, a nucleic acid present in all living cells. Its principal role is to act as a messenger carrying instructions from DNA for controlling the synthesis of proteins, although in some viruses RNA rather than DNA carries the genetic information) 2) It enters your cells and re-writes your DNA by using the mRNA. 3) Then your own DNA in each of your cells (after being modified by the mRNA), those contacted cells are told to make a protein that attaches to the outside of your cells. This protein mimics the surface of the COVID virus-cell surface. 4) then your immune system attacks the new protein on the surface of your own cells, and this action is what creates the COVID Antibodies in your body that will be used to kill the real invading COVID virus. The questions persist: 1) How long will the mRNA continue to make the protein? 2) How many overreactions will occur when the body attacks the protein? 3) How effective will the current mRNA be when the COVID-19 mutates? 4) What happens when people need another mRNA for COVID-23? 5) This is why this cannot be called a "vaccine". This is just an experiment. Messing around with mRNA can cause birth defects or other strange occurrences in the reproductive cycle. HOW COMMON IS THIS? Maybe Bill Gates should have been called to perform more experiments on pregnant African Women !!!

So glad you got your first vaccine dose. I got mine (Pfizer) on Wednesday and other than a sore arm and a mild of fever on the third day my experience has been fine. The organisation was fantastic here in Liverpool. In and out with no fuss and the people staffing it were real professionals. The psychological impact is significant. I'm not particularly fond of having vaccines (although I had alot when in the military) but it has to be done. People owe it to themselves and to those around them to get vaccinated if it is safe for them.

I am pleased you are being a bit more humble and admitting this carried some risk (though perhaps a calculated one) without the data. The risk on this occasion paid off and we have all gained. As you rightly say "Follow the data". My reservations about the policy for a delayed 2nd dose for Pfizer is now resolved.
