Nice. I had to use another phone app the one by google to be able to workaround that shit. But i prefer the native one

I only just moved from my 13 pro to an S23 today and installed one ui 6 and it feels so much better than IOS just a far more pleasant experience way more you can do less boring and restricted i feel like i own this phone but with my iphones i felt like Apple still owned them.

As an average user, I like most of these changes. One thing I would change in the setting panel is move the Bluetooth and wifi toggles above the brightness toggle. So these 2 would be sandwiched between the large panel with the other setting and the brightness setting. It could make it easier to reach.

The Bluetooth Airplane mode feature was already present in 5.1 The emoji update was so needed. The earlier Samsung emojis were so ugly I changed them using a third party app

The bluetooth staying on while on flight mode has been there for a while now.

I hope they would make an option to choose the old style for quick panel settings, at least via labs or something like that.

@@NexusKodry yeah, feel the same. quick panel is harder to reach now. I preffer the old layout way more, because on s22,23 Ultra everything on upper hald is hard to reach.

One Ui desperately needs a new quick settings panel and new icons and overhauled animations. Used a pixel 8 pro in store the other day and it really emphasized how behind in smooth animations Samsung is despite them improving a lot

One UI is so much better in so many ways, and even the animations are great, BUT they're not playful at all. The animations ARE smooth but boring. I used the pixel 7 pro before switching back to my Note 20 ultra. I mainly wanted to try the pixel because of stock android, but man, stock android is just like iOS. Boring as hell. So yeah, went back to Note 20 ultra, and now got a Fold 5. Might go back to Pixel again in the future if they make more nicer improvements to hardware and software.

Almost everything about One UI looks dated. The colorful overly decorated icons. The small circular quick tiles which are too spaced out, the settings menu which are again overly spaced out with unnecessary lines between them. The control center is translucent which does not match with the overall aesthetics. Why can't they just add their additional features to stock android like NOTHING did.

@@debasismohanty1601 People used to like glass like blur back in windows vista era. Now most people like flat and simple minimalistic material design more. Pixel like UI always wins polls over one ui, MIUI, iOS, etc, on different platforms.

One UI 6 fixed that awful 4k 30fps lag in the first 2 seconds of the video which made me so happy. Taking pictures and videos is much faster now. Other than that, no significant changes besides the quick panel overhaul which is not a big deal for me.

Fixed for me too. It's the first thing I checked when the update finished.

Just downloaded it on my s22, very happy with it.

I want that S24 Ultra already.

I wish Samsung would put the auto brightness toggle separately and not on the brightness bar itself...at the brightest end. At night after gaming I'll go to turn the auto brightness back on and hit the 3 dots at the brightest end of the slider and it pretty much always goes to full brightness searing my retinas.

Samsung stated that n20/s20 devices will be getting "Essentials X", not "One UI 6". Although the devices hardware can support the os, they only develop for their build cycle (announcing which devices are getting what). Media moves fast and causes misinformation, thank you for the comment. Time will tell, but the news went haywire and too fast for proper reasearch/writers vetting information or reading.

Finally some ergonomy improvements and a good looking UI from Samsung. I waited like 8 years but now i can put down my old Huawei Mate 20 and buy a S23.

Got the update a few days ago... Not too impressed with the new quick settings menu... The overall design language seems a bit disjointed now... Also don't like the new battery app and how it calculates SOT on a daily basis instead of since the last full charge...

they changed so you don't know exactly how much SoT you have. So far it chopped 1.5 - 2 hours of screen on time. I guess it's time for the new shinny model to buy 😂 So, people, stop buying Samsung if you don't like getting screwed over

I agree with you all! The previous quick setting was far more convenient for one hand use and for overall review. Also the battery setting drawing is sh*T now gosh they killed the SoT.. (except if you charge during the night)

The Intelligence options in Camera settings hugely affect shutter responsiveness at the expense of controlling highlights, shadows, and, to some extent, contrast. It's definitely a great option for when shutter speed is the priority, especially if you lock exposure beforehand. Although, I can't see why they don't just process the images after leaving the viewfinder. P.S. Some of the functions covered here aren't new to One UI 6

That I don't understand either. Many times before the update I would open up a picture I just took and the phone would still be optimizing the image, now it should still be doing that to the extent that it can even with a faster shutter. I can only assume it's because that with a faster shutter, it's not taking multiple shots at different exposures and then blending them in real time and that is why it is able to take more pictures quicker. Which would make sense as to why it can't optimize them in the same manner.

The only thing I like about tis update is the new font.

5:26 - does no one use folders, with an organized app drawer? I know exactly where every app is located. (my app drawer is less than 1 page.) Speaking of pages, I'd personally rather have a vertical app drawer like all the rest of the modern UIs have, vs any drawer search functions. (the vertical drawer you can get with Good Lock sucks balls.) Oh, and when will Bixby Call Screening work with Wifi Calling? G-Assist Call Screening works great over Wifi Calling. 🤷

I agree with you about the app drawer, it's so stupid flicking up vertically and then scrolling horizontally, and also that the Good Lock app is a pretty unsatisfactory solution. I have to use Nova launcher just to get a decent vertically scrolling app drawer, other than that One UI is fine for me

Regarding AOD, is there a way to get the previous font back? The new one is so bold, i preferred the sleek one.

Try searching for font style in the settings. There's a few options to pick from or you can download another font of your choice.

Does android version update along with ONE UI6?

I'm still waiting for them to bring back the option of choosing which "media output" I want when I press the volume button. I'd say that's the only real complaint I've had. Having to go through the notification bar to switch is pretty annoying... Still overall pleased with my phone though 🤷🏻‍♂️

Don't know if this is phone dependant but your quick settings are green, mine are a standard blue..... Are these changable?

Downsides to me : new quick settings panel, new color of it, battery panel, change of names of Galaxy Apps which in an alphabetical sorting were easier to check...

How to minimize the apps. Previous setting seem to be changed. I want the old setting of minimizing app back. Only the close all option is coming.

My Galaxy S21 Fe just updated to one ui 6.0. I now have haptic feedback active on games... even though everything under system vibration and vibration intensity is set all the way to off. I have severe nerve damage and I cannot have haptic feedback. I cannot figure out how to disable it since it's already disabled. Any thoughts?

I now have the One UI 6 update on my A53 5g and i like it for the most part, but there are a few things that im not a fan of.

S20 FE 5g should get the update 😭

It needs another update

Those weather apps are not very good. They use a world wide weather model. Local weather (as in the country or State, you live in) can vary an awful lot from their forecast. In the U.K you are better loading the Met Office Weather. It is far better. They track incoming weather much better and that storm that storm the ECWMF model thinks is going to pass two hundred miles to the North of you might actually be barrelling down on you. Never use the ECWMF model if you have a local option and the Met Office is one of the best in the world. Thanks for this review - Great stuff. Cheers.

When demonstrating the Camera app, point the phone at something that shows a nice picture image.

even samsung Quick Settings has an awful pixel/xiaomi Quick Settings syle now. i dont know what phone should i get now

samsung needs to change to noto emojis already, theyre far and away the best imo. (i liked the windows 11 ones too but ive not used it for an extended amount of time)
