Joy is exactly right. Every teen show now has to have some supernatural element or murder mystery. OTH was about everyday teens in a small town that we could all relate to. I miss those days.

My god yes. She absolutely nailed that. Dawson’s creek, Gilmore girls, one tree hill. Those 3 shows were great, one tree hills still my favorites tho. But these newer shows don’t have the same feel AT ALL. I mean I haven’t found a single show I’ve liked as much as OTH.

joy saying that every YA that followed oth was heightened is so accurate. tv shows these days are so exaggerated it’s hard to stay interested for as long as i have stayed interested in shows like oth. i’ve always said that tv shows from before are just better than the new ones now. and we keep getting reboots, make new shows people!!!

People (and creators and executives) get so caught up in the gimmicks these days. I personally love stories that are relatable and keep it simple and grounded. Those shows and stories often hold up the best also. That’s what I feel like television is slowly starting to remember.

Everwood was another great show

One Tree Hill is definitely my comfort show. It hurts my heart what you went through with the awful people on the show, but thank you for going through that for me. This show has saved my life a few times.

Honestly, this show saved my life. These characters where my first friends and when I was going through it I would ask what would Brooke do or how would Haley handle this? I wish Clothes Over Bros was real.

Yes! I was extremely emotional at a young age. All my peers never were honest about what they were going through and i never felt i had a safe space to express myself. This show was amazing having kids go through emotional trials and i loved the honesty! life is not a fairy tale there is ups and downs. We all are human that’s what this show gave me. It gave me hope

I literally just started rewatching the series for the 3rd time as a woman in my 30’s. Brings me back to my high school days. I love all of these women and how they have truly come into their own. I feel like I’ve grown up with them. I was so psyched to learn they started a podcast!!!! I am so proud of them and pray blessing upon their lives🥰

Joy hit the nail on the head. it's comfort food. The show is about real stuff & came along @ that age where things make a greater impact & lasting impression. It'll always be 1 of my fav things in life & I'll always care about the cast & what they do.

Good to hear that Hilarie's laugh is still the same, I love it 😂😂 The only new drama show that has managed to keep me hooked over several seasons is Outlander, which I love, but I definitely miss OTH 😔 I just loved the chemistry between these ladies and the rest of the cast, felt like a family 👪❤

One tree hill has been with me through all my ups and downs. Its my go to comfort show, and has been ever since I was 14 years old. 11 years later, I still love it just as much as I did when I started it, if not more. And to have such amazingly beautiful, intelligent and strong women to look up to as Sophia, Hilarie and Joy... what a blessing.

There are no words for how deep my love is for this show and these women. OTH was truly my whole life growing up and I know that sounds insane, but going through severe abuse and being terrified and depressed, one tree hill always ALWAYS made me feel better and made me happy. Started watching at 11 years old and it ended right before I graduated high school so I thought that was fitting lol. I got over 20 girls hooked on the show in HS as well.

No way!!! I was hoping this would happen someday! I’m so happy about this! I have rewatched the show more times than I can count!!! Yes!!!

I've watched every episode while it was on TV and have probably rewatched 100 or more... it's a show that doesn't get old. And now I just pick out stuff I missed before. I am so stoked to have the ladies back in my life

One Tree Hill, even there is a backstory with the creators, is one of the shows that has aged well with time. Even when I watch it now, it can still bring out emotions that quite frankly modern TV shows sometimes lack.

ONE Tree Hill is family. Friendship. Life. Love You can see yourself in these characters.You hurt and celebrate with them. Plus the soundtrack and S/l. Being able to go home to Tree Hill in terms of rewatching is never not comforting.

My bestie has a Brooke tattoo and she wants me to get Peyton for her. But we are in our 30s now.. lol. Love this show. Have done so for so many years ❤️

It’s cause some stuff in life you realize you can relate too that we all go through as teenagers, adults, and etc. It actually goes into depth of reality vs fantasy. Now days everything a dream and reality forgot about it seems. We forget the crazy stuff women and men experience growing up with abusive parents and toxic relationships

I just binged watched all 9 seasons of OTH on HULU. I only watched it a little bit when it was on back in the day. Something told me to start watching it. It’s now my favorite show of ALL TIME!!! It used to be Gossip Girl, but now it’s OTH! Honestly, OTH is the predecessor to GG.

It's so interesting... back then I was just happy that there was a show I liked that was about people my age and that was it. I didn't know anyone else in my group of girlfriends in high school who watched and I wasn't getting constant feedback from people about it. Could you have imagined how crazy that should would have been had social media been more of a presence.

The reason OTH was so good were these three lead females. Plus the fact the show was small town and not full of rich shallow characters. The fact these three women are so intelligent and down to earth and have normal lives will make this podcast a blast for all us OTH fans!

I’m really glad they’re addressing stuff like this now because the show really lacks on poc and lgbt representation for example and it’s not like it was on air so long ago so it’s something that i feel it’s worth talking about because it really reflects how these stories were always set aside and maybe they could’ve opened doors for more diversity on television sooner

It was a wb thing. Many shows on cw were like that. But we had Skills, we also had a storyline against lesbophobia... Not enough but for that time it was normal and still big to get crumbs. They got lot of storylines on addictions dealing with death, growth which were good. Today it would be a different story and representation would be better.

i feel like the majority of shows were (unfortunately) like that back then. in a way, i feel like its probably best that it didn't have much representation, as i don't think mark would've really done it justice (like antwon admitted that he'd rewrite his own lines a lot to be more reflective of how he actually speaks. plus there were a lot of weird lesbian undertones that you could tell were written by a man, so maybe it was best that anna left when she did)

actually the show was pretty good for its time with LGBT representation as Anna Taggaro was one of the few examples of a gay character that WASN'T killed off or put through a tragedy, and the fact that she was latina made it even better, unlike Tara on Buffy she actually got a happy ending as she finally gathered the courage to come out to her parents and go back to her old school.

Because it's the greatest show ever!!!! I named my daughter Peyton after this show.. pretty sure I have seen it a zillion times

OTH is my all time favorite series 🙌...I love the series so much and I fell in love with the major casts ❤...No series will take that spot for me.Let me add that I re-downloaded the whole series and I binge watch anytime I feel like seeing more of Lucas,Peyton,Brooke,Haley,Nathan and of Jamie 😁

I'm binging the show now, it's still a fave. It's funny to hear Sophia Bush say the show is super white because young me didn't experience it that way. Now looking back I'm noticing there are a few key black characters, but all of them are men. Bald, similar types (all ball players, except the high school principal). The only black girls on the show were on for half an episode each. And only one of the main characters. And literally NO other people of color to speak of. It is dissapointing watching back a show that I experienced as diverse, to realize it's diverse "enough" for whomever was casting it back then. Society really did trick you - if it weren't for Skills and Brooke I wouldn't have watched the show, she represented a personality I felt akin to and he an experience, the "only black friend." It's really pathetic looking back, but I still love these girls. Also that scene where Q calls Skills an Uncle Tom - so poorly thought out and cringe af. Why.

I wish we could watch them re-watching the pilot...

It was the last because before that they had dawsons creek Beverly Hills 90210. During that those shows where relatable this generation grew up with their siblings watching these family shows

The #1 global podcast of all-time? Is this dude for real? It's not the cast of Seinfeld or The Office or Friends, and so many shows that blew this ridiculous piece of bubblegum out of the water that my fingers would fall off if I even tried to list them all. What's next, is he gonna pretend The Gilmore Girls was the TV equivalent of The Godfather?
