One Thing I Hate on this GERBER Suspension NXT Multi Tool
This Gerber Suspension NXT is an amazing budget friendly multi tool. The sturdy pocket clip makes it an easy EDC pick.

The suspension is great I've had one for years and broke the plyers.I called the warranty department and sent in a picture of the plyers. They sent me a new one within a week.

For the warranty do you need to send back the tool
Imagine yourself cutting into something, where you need every millimeter of your blade But, there's a tab on the side of the blade, to make it easy to open, that won't let you cut the whole way thru. Nothing you can do will let you get that blade pushed past that tab. Just a thought

Imagine making that blade a little smoother to open... then you wouldn't need that tab would you?!? There's no excuses for poor craftsmanship, besides cost. It is what it is. Get a better tool or don't bitch about it! Or, vote in a better politician, better yet! We are all getting hammered while they are cutting all the way through & leaving US with the "tab"!!!

It's a good multitool for general light use.
I wrapped micro cord around the grip spot on the knife. Easily flips open one handed!
Had one and pliers broke right away, it was sharp though
I got one brand new at a pawnshop and my only complaint is the scissors they’re made too small and are uncomfortable to use if they were made a big bigger and had space for a comfortable grip if probably use it more

Yeah, the gips aren't the best.
This one handed thing is great and all, but I've worked for countless years opening tools with two hands and never seemed to have a problem. When you need to cut a bolt do you wish that your bolt cutters were one handed? It's just a really weird thing that lots of people get really weird about. The pliers don't open one handed either. In fact, aside from the M600 I can't think of any multi-tool pliers that open one handed. So why is one handed so important? I've been a mechanic, a land serveyer, an Army soldier, a furniture repair technician, and a gunsmith. I've never in my life thought to myself, every tool needs to be one handed. Yet it's the one thing everyone wants in their tools. Is there something wrong with me? Am I missing something? Seriously, is everyone having these experiences where they always have one arm busy when they need to open a knife?

Thanks for the response! I don't mind a razor knife that requires two hands. Some designs are minimalist witch can mean less parts to fail!
i thought you were gonna say the awl. knife is pretty easy to open one handed but the awl took a while to really loosen up. when i first got this it was damn near impossible to open without opening the philips and flathead first. def needs some lubrication out of the box
Are those multitools a bit of adult's toy sometimes? I have owned... and for me at least it was a bit an adult's toy.

They are fun to have around and fidget with!
This is probably one reason why you can't unfold the knife with one hand, and I would say that is for safety's sake, it should not be able to be used as a weapon but as part of the tool in a unit

@@usernameisusername yup the "Can-Opener" has a completely different use in Canada! It deploys quickly there and no one is any safer with it!
It would be a perfect tool for me if I could swap the awl with the saw that comes on the regular suspension.

I love my NXT. Goes hiking with me every weekend, tethered to my pack via the lanyard and there when I need it. Tbh, though, the knife blade is probably my least used implement because I always carry an *actual* knife in my pocket for 'quick deployment needs'
i love my gerber!!!!!!!

Maybe the slot in the blade, that they put there for ease of opening, should be bigger. Possibly round like a spyderco knife.? Idk
I own one and yes. The last part is true. A thumb notch wwouldve been great. I keep it on my bugout bag but as for edc im going for the roxon that has one

I'm still on the fence about the suspension. the locking/unlocking mechanism is difficult to use compared to other tools. this alone may be a reason to buy something else

Stop with the bottle openers, it's not a useful tool. It's not a tool. 99.9% of bottles are twist cap. Thank you!!!
