Full video clip of Idina Menzel, Helen Dallimore and the original London cast of 'Wicked' performing 'One Short Day' at the Royal Variety Performance at the London Coliseum, on Monday 4th December. They also performed 'Defying Gravity', check that out in my other videos.

Helen certainly brought new ideas to her character. To be honest, I quite like it and I think it does fit well considering it's in Britain. I think we're only questioning it because everyone else has played the part in a completely different way. But I like Helen's ultra-posh, ultra-dipsy Glinda a lot!
True true, but we can all have our favorites right? ;D Idina Menzel ftw :)
I am so in the mod for singing this music
um, i think it was the first musical theatre job that she ever did. i think before wicked, she just did serious plays in austrailia. she isn't really famous to people who don't know wicked, but yeah, she's definitely famous to fans.
Helen was well getting ready to take a bow there and then Idina drags her off x-D
lol - of course she's got fans! she's bloody brilliant. it's just a small minority think differently. you are very welcome. :)
This scene becomes so sad when you know that Elphaba won't be allowed to return with her friend to live in the one place where she's felt accepted :(
This is the original Broadway Elphaba, and she was coming down from Laryngitis during this performance.
The whole 3:11 section is too slowed down in this version.. It bothers me a lot. Hahaha
lots of people thought she was a bit dodgy - her singing was criticised by lots of fans i know and the press, and some people thought she wasn't good in comparison to the others on broadway, etc.
they need a person to introduce the one who will introduce the show. :D
This Glinda is okay, but I prefer Kristen!
@MultiBelle22 Adam Garcia probably - original london fiyero
@songsparrow882 Which Doctor Who episode? I might know!
nope - but idina was here with us for a few months... lucky us! kristen didn't come unfortunately, but we had someone called helen dallimore (who is quite controversial - people either loved her or hated her i think) who in my opinion, was fantastic.
I think all of the performers here are great, just not in this performance! There are a lot of tuning issues here, making it hard to enjoy. It was probably a good job the Queen did not attend that year! :L
LOL
it actually starts at 0:53
I think Idina is more natural with Kristin when it comes to best Glinda and Elphaba.. Helen is most definately not my favorite. Ultimate team: Idina and Kristen forever.
Who plays Fiyero here?
Lol
I saw Helen Dallimore about 2 years ago doing Wicked, With Kerry Ellis - The West End doesn't compare to broadway.. :(
this isn't megan, it's helen dallimore :)
i think that's just the way Helen chose to play the character (ie. posher and perhaps more ditsy than kristin.) i'm not sure who i prefer, because helen was really good live (this video doesn't really do her justice).
glinda in this = ugh
Even though I'm British... the British cast of Wicked sounds a bit tone deaf ''/ except for Idina of course :D
mensel ? really Adam :D

aha XD
Im sorry but I prefer Kristen I think she has a stronger voice I think her is a bit high pitched
one person accidentally hit dislike.
i think kristin chenoweth is still the best glinda =)
I've gotta say, Helen Dallimore is not really a very good G(a)linda, in my opinion - I'm not a great fan of her voice, and I feel like she doesn't really fit the part as well as she could.
kristin was much better
British ruins everything! I really don't like how Helen is so 'posh' in this, it makes it sound utterly stupid! Idina did fantastic! Although she tried to put on a British accent also, that ruined it. Ordinary was suffering with a chest infection this night, as you can tell in this nights performance of defying gravity, on her first 'me down' and her 'ahahaaaa' her voice cracks. Although stunning performance (staging wise... XD.) Idina decently sounds better now though!!
i dont like the glinda thay have or elphiba
I don't like Helen as Glinda..
wow, the glinda they have here is annoying
Jesus, she's always "getting over laryngitis." Some people just don't like Idina. IMO she's pretty bad. She does not sing well and her gasping really bothers me.

you choose this performance to criticize? she sounds absolutely fine here.
