Yeah its honestly such a touching scene because its 2 people thinking they will never find anyone that understands them and their struggle but in the end it seemed like they both enjoyed not being alone in that.

There is an old comic showing the parallels between the two. Training, reaching a point where nothing challenges them and looking for a someone that lets them go all out. Boros found in Saitama, even if it meant his death. Unfortunatelly for Saitama, he was still too strong.

Saitama a gave him his perfect battle, while he has been looking for his this whole time, he thought that Boros was his chance to get that fight, instead he gave boros his perfect satisfying ending while he didn’t even try and is still feeling the same empty feeling he started with. Such a sad scene for me, always makes me feel bad for him

Honestly, they could have been friends, aside from conquering the universe, Boros is pretty chill.

Kinda, i mean Saitama wants to fight strong enough opponents, but definitely not as badly as Boros since he is willing to destroy worlds just to fight stronger opponents. Boros is laughin at himself in that case, but i think its a mix of both. I think ultimately Boros was disappointed that he found too strong of an opponent to where the prophecy he was seeking was false, like he says at the end.

You don't understand anything lol, Boros wasn't laughing at him or anything like that, in the end he felt sorry for Saitama, because he knows what it's like to be strong and not be able to feel the satisfaction of a real fight, in that end Boros feels sorry and sad for Saitama, because he is "too strong"

There was no "last laugh". Boros simply realized he went full circle. He sought the strongest in order to feel something and after all this time he actually did. A being so unfathomably stronger than him, that he couldn't help but empathize with how empty Saitama's life must be. Every punch he threw, every move he made; Saitama let it happen. Saitama wanted to keep fighting. Keep up this illusion of a fair spar with a worthy foe. Not for Boros' sake, but for his own. It was only once there was no sign of doubt left, no shred of hope that "maybe there's more power than this attack"; only then could Saitama bring himself to end the person who he'd hoped so hard would be able to stand on even footing with him. To even give him the slightest inkling of a challenge. Boros was laughing at his own stupidity for not admitting to himself that he couldn't keep up with Saitama. He didn't think he was weak, even, he knew that despite his actual power, there wasn't just a gap between their strength - he's not even in the same order of magnitude. That's what puts such a great cherry on top of what would be a triumphant, if pyrrhic victory in other anime. Saitama found what would be the closest organism to him, but evil and it barely even fazed him. That last bit of "it was a hard fight" was as much pity for Boros, his kindred in spirit, as despair at his own insurmountable strength and everlasting boredom.

Sensible theory but he isn't exactly Goku, Saitama's look isn't regret but more of lack of getting a kick out of fighting an equal, Boros was powerful but not powerful enough for Saitama to go all out...he makes a similar face when he defeats Cosmic Fear Garou , this time he's contemplating despite going all out he's not feeling anything because it came out of cost of Genos' death ( before he learned to travel back in time and stop garou becoming a God level threat)

I love how this season started with "Goddamn It", and also ended with "Goddamn It". It just bring a little sweet nostalgic to the viewers🙂
