That's one of the charm of this anime. Protagonist has no cool hair, and no cool eyes, he is already a hero where it's supposed to be a zero to hero adventure. But later on I like how the author manage to create such a very relatable character with a very unfathomable power. The real conflicts comin' right up.

Yes!! He's very likeable and true to himself. It's an unusual take on the typical hero story - very refreshing!

23:20 If you look at the overhead shot of when Saitama "punched" Genos, you'll notice the shockwave starts way far back. ... So Saitama threw the "Death" punch, stopped it, then dashed in front of the shockwave so it'd hit him and Genos would only get hit by a rather sudden and less-than-subtle reminder of his own mortality. Isn't it cute how much Saitama cares not to hurt people?

Saitama is good at physical exam but, the reason why saitama only gets a class c hero, is because when saitama is not good at taking the written exam, on every question on paper he answers "just need one punch" This is an example of a question, how do you rescue a victim who's being held hostage by the enemy? "Just need one punch" How do we defeat a monster that is strong and that can be as fast as lightning? "Just one punch" So the jury didn't believe and took it as a joke like saitama didn't take the exam seriously, so they just gave him a class c hero Believe me Mumen Rider is the best Hero.. :D

Amai Mask is a Yagami Light(Death Note) parody. Not only do they share the same VA, he even spouts some of his taglines or "catchphrases". Not to mention the face design, of course. It's pretty brilliant.

currently (in this episode at least) he doesn't make money. Similar to the Author (who saved up for about 8 months before going all in on working on OPM, back in it's early webcomic days), he worked at a convenience store part-time and built up some savings before devoting himself to his training. And then also lived off gifts and donations from people he'd saved once he started dabbling in hero-work after Year 1 of training. That's why he's always penny-pinching so much, since he's trying to make his savings continue to stretch.

So nice to see someone who "gets" one of your favorite animes immediately :) Love your reactions!

In here they make fun of anime pop culture. for example some characters looks similar to other anime and how characters explains too much like when genos was explaining his backstory. iirc, "mumen" is a Japanese term referring to someone who doesn't have a driver's liscense. Hence why Mumen Rider uses a bicycle.

U have to watch the Episode 5 again, beginning from the scene at the video at 18:39, including the stuff u cut. There is an important easteregg u missed, so it seems. Look at the photo genos holds close, what proportion catches ur eye? 🤔 😎 ;-) And what happened 3 years ago too? Also, apparently, in the hero test, all saitama wrote under the questions as answer was "I punch it". Thats how he ended up with those results. XD So i was told.

12:22 that's something I often wonder about, what is with the apparent "visual ADHD" some Asian countries seem to have? It's the same for Japan, South Korea, and China, though I can't speak for other countries. Their entertainment media is often so visually noisy.

I highly recommend the original Devilman. This is one of those rare occasions where nextflix actually nailed it and I think Crybaby is actually better than the original. But the original is still entertaining as hell.

Amai mask definitely sounds like Yagami from deathnote.

Genos didn't fly away (nor got obliterated) because Saitama shielded him with his own body, which makes the whole scene even more absurd lol

mumen rider is not a normal human, he was up against a guy who had a superior suit to his minions who could demolish entire skyscrapers, give him a break, in a canon audiobook he took on a villain more his size, still bulletproof and able to punch holes in concrete, I'm not sure he won but he at least managed to hurt the villain and take his attacks, a normal human would instantly die to that kind of force, realistically Mumen Rider should be able to one-punch normal humans, seeing as he hits harder than bullets and even a random C class hero (Mumen is C class rank 1, able to move into B class if he wants) is stated to be almost 5 times stronger than a normal human, not all that much in the grand scheme of things, he'd get whooped by pretty much every single character in the show, but he could sucessfully fist-fight a black bear, it's safe to say regular humans can't become heroes like you think, if they tried they'd obviously fail, since bottom of the barrel is still above mike tyson

Hes being cocky because the guy never chose to go over A Class and i think hes probably stronger than genos just maybe

@@teddymecheto they didn't directly mention it YET but just implied it. So if someone is at top of their Class Rank. They are given option to move to upper class. So him being top of Class A have a choice of moving up to Class S. But he chooses not to and the reason will be given later. So no spoilers 🙈
