Such a complex scene with all the indoor and outdoor elements. I enjoyed watching it all come together.

Wow, this is so helpful in explaining to new urban sketchers how to show context and the "story" (we see a lot of random flower vases, etc with no context). I have posted a link to this video in the USk Seattle FB group. Thanks so much!

Had Concepts years ago and it drove me crazy. The wheel used to disappear. It still does if you keep it set to the uppermost top corner. Figure that one out and it's smooth. Great App. Most really don't need more than the free version for urban sketching. Kinda like a Freeform big brother. Great sketch ... as usual.

Buying the Essentials set will unlock many useful tools. And it's a one time purchase.

Great sketch! I love Concepts, it's a terrific app and feels the closest of any drawing app to a sketching experience in my opinion. Any tips on use of colours and how to maintain colour harmony whilst using the Copic wheel? (by the way, I think you easily get great colour harmony because you're a terrific artist 😂)

Believe or not, the strange thing about this app is you can get the colours to work harmoniously easily without much difficulty. When choosing grays, one should stick to either cool, warm, tone or neutral family, and not mix the grays

Hi Teoh, working digitally has a lot of advantages, like flexibility and ability to edit or delete elements. One thing that I do not like so much compared to paper though, is the ability to zoom and rotate. This is great when working at details and finetuning. But when drawing and sketching on paper I see all elements at a glance and I will not be tempted to add very small details. Even though it is possible to work at one zoom level in a digital app, but still the feeling is different than paper and I tend to lose the overview of the picture and focus too much on small details. Do you have any ideas on how to handle this? Do other people prefer to disable zooming and rotating the canvas?

When out sketching, I personally disable anything that allows the 'puter to draw instead of me. If that makes any sense. No zoom, no snap, no grid, no fill ... that's for all the art Apps I may have available.

Just creating drafting lines to mark out the composition first, then draw within the shapes. Once you run out of space or you don't know whether you should add more details, stop. I only use a single brush size for drawing. That makes it almost impossible to draw details unless the brush size is reduced. Maybe I will make a tutorial on this.

I see you have an 'Ink template' file. What different about that vs. the Concepts default 'new drawing'?

You can open a new file, select your favourite 8 tools/colours, and close the file. That's your template that you can duplicate and get back your preset tools. New created files will always use the tools you were using from the previous artwork. E.g. If you end your previous artwork with all pencils, and you create a new file, you will get all those pencils again. So if I want to create an ink drawing, I duplicate a template that has ink pens, otherwise just created a brand new file will give me all those pencils which I do not want.
