in case you were wondering 1066 is another finale episode which shows how the rest of the alliance took down the other emperor. the raid has been one of the best stretches in anime with crazy fights on (1004, 1015, 1017, 1026, 1028, 1033, 1038, 1048, 1049, 1051) and there's been many other moments for the other strawhats in between these episodes. icl OP been carrying anime for a min

For a little context, the Animal Kingdom Pirates have eaten Zoan Devil Fruits, which allows them to shapeshift between their human, animal, and hybrid forms at will. Kaido leads the group as a dragon, and his strongest members are ancient animals, like a giant ancient spider, a mammoth, and a bunch of dinosaurs. Queen was a Brontosaurus, King was a Pterodactyl, and there's a guy called Jack who's the Mammoth, and yes they're named after cards, there's a ton themes layered in all this.

Enma (Zoro's sword) is not giving him power, by the contrary, it's taking it away, it refuses to be used lightly and when he is lacking it starts to require more power from him and his attacks get less precise (it uses unecesary force and does stronger slashes when he doesn't want it to).

Y’all gotta watch episodes 1015, 1017, 1026, 1028 and 1033, some of the best episodes of the Luffy vs Kaido fight! 1015-1026 are team fights which include Luffy Zoro Kidd Law and Killer vs Kaido and Big mom while 1033 is just Luffy vs Kaido

the arm turning black was something called haki, it's basically willpower as a power system. think of it kinda like chakra or ki from naruto and dragon ball. people can harness willpower, haki, in 3 ways. armament haki: the black arm, this is using willpower as armor to cover you and your weapons in super dense willpower for added defense and offense. observation haki: using willpower to sense the world around you, detect other people, and sorta predict their intent so you can react to and dodge their attacks. conqueror's haki: special haki that you need to be born with and then train like crazy to learn to use, allows you to use your willpower to conquer other people's willpower, often knocking them out cold if theyre weak enough compared to you. zoro's sword, enma, was basically just sucking all of zoro's willpower out to feed itself because it's just a hella powerful sword and demands that kinda power back from it's user. and he came to the conclusion he just had to be strong enough to feed enma without dying due to all of his energy being drained. and he basically unlocked his conqueror's haki there and began to feed enma that, which finally gave him control over the sword. the green and purple are just visual representation of what zoro's haki looks like. purple fire for armament, green for conquerors. for example, luffy's haki comes out as more like lightning, red for armament and gold for conquerors. it's really just there to make the fights look cooler, and help you differentiate who is doing the attacks and where they land since otherwise haki would just be like invisible forcefields and stuff.

Sanji only uses his feet to fight because it's his mentor's philosophy that a chef's hands should only be used for creation, never destruction. So he developed a whole martial art so he could fight with just his feet. It's based on a French martial art called Savate, which also uses a lot of kicks, and was developed for fighting aboard ships, where a man's hands would often be busy holding onto rigging or to avoid being thrown overboard in rough waves.

The wait was worth it!! W reaction. Y’all two are hilarious. That said, you just saw the 2 of the dopest fights in anime. And Wano has so many! Kidd/Law vs Big Mom, Killer v Hawkins, The Samurai V Kaido, the fucking rooftop battle! Episode 1015 (regarded as one of if not THE best anime episodes in history)!!! And you have that much emotion, it’s even better because the story leading up to those fights is what makes it so much better. Especially Sanji. I had tears in my eyes after watching that fight because I know his story. And you talk about zoro being the hardest character in anime? This wasn’t even his hardest moment in the anime. “Nothing happened” is. I’m telling you One Piece is fucking goated for the story. It’s incredible. Y’all just saw a culmination of two characters that have been built delicately for over 25 years.

Sanji's character is one of the deepest and most emotional stories in one piece, and I encourage you guys to look into his first and even his second backstory. Melonteee's video on him is a perfect explanation of everything about him. Someone else has said it, but Sanji is an augmented human, Queen is a cybernetic person that also ate the zoan fruit model: brachiosaur so he turns into a giant brachiosaur that also has cybernetic enhancements. Sanji's family, the Germa 66, are all augmented humans and the family is run by Vinsmoke Judge, who worked in MADS (a scientific organization Judge, Queen, and even Vegapunk all worked together in. ) The Germa 66, Vinsmoke Reiju, Vinsmoke Ichiji, Vinsmoke Niji, Vinsmoke Yonji, Vinsmoke Judge and finally the failed experiment, Vinsmoke Sanji. During this fight, Sanji awakens latent abilities that were given by his family all those years ago. Every member of the family also has a Raid Suit, which is the suit they keep talking about not his literal suit (though the fit is fire) and that raid suit can be seen at 2:25 has his ability "stealth black", meaning he can go invisible, which queen then uses against him as sanji hates his family and doesnt want to use the raid suit to turn invisible. He's also struggling with the fact that he believes hes becoming a monster because all of the Germa 66 *apparently* have no emotions, when in fact it seems more likely they just have lesser emotions and are more okay with violence. Sanji himself has an extremely self sacrificing demeanor and on many occasions he has tried to give himself up to die for his crew, thats because for his entire childhood he grew up with his entire family calling him worthless, locking him away, torturing him, making him wear an iron mask and was only ever given love by his mother, his sister, and the castle's very few maids. That's why he doesn't hit women. He literally has so much childhood trauma that his coping mechanism is to just, never be rude to women because they were the only people nice to him as a kid. Its so fucking sad. God I love one piece. Yall need to watch Whole Cake Island, that entire Arc is Sanji's Arc and it really fleshed his character out a lot.

MINOR SPOILERS . . . . . . . . . . . Zoro's sword isn't exactly giving him strength. Quite the opposite. The sword is a great grade sword and 'has a will of its own.' Enma is testing Zoro's will by sapping him of his Haki, thus making Zoro pump out even more, which is life-threatening in tough battles.
