NATO is a money maker for arms manufacturers.That is why they want members.Required to purchase from select arms manufacturers.I prefer my tax dollars to go to helping Canadians who need help.

Russia is encroaching on Canadas minerals n natural resources in the Arctic claiming they own Canadas Arctic. Russia is a threat to Canadas ar tic for years but especially now bc Russia has been building up their military presence in their Arctic regions and coming after Canadas land claiming it's there's so they can then mine their gold, silver, oil, natural gas, ect. Canada doesn't stand a chance if Russia went into their Arctic.

I think you are missing the point. As stated in the video 8:04, the intent of adequate defense spending is deterrence so you never need to fight a war and never need to lose our 20 yr old sons and daughters. Much better to spend 2% of GDP and never use it than to under spend and then have to spend 10% to 15% during a war to get out of the mess.

So the GDP without pensions savings added into it is only 1.37 Million?

We have no business being in NATO unless and until we totally remake and reimagine our military and make it once again Canadian. After this perhaps we can have the discussion of weather or not NATO is event relevant anymore for our country. For the time being though- imagine being part of a club in which other members pay your dues cuz you have other priorities?

I served 9 years in the army, that’s a pretty terrible idea. New recruits are already a pain in the ass without fat lazy Toronto kids who don’t even wanna be there added in the mix. I like the idea of mandatory service but it would be a net negative.

@@petepete2284 Yes. 100% women need to be drafted in the upcoming wars. It's one of the final stages of women's rights. Also Canadian women have pretty much guaranteed they're not worth fighting for. So they must be drafted with men to keep morale high.

I long time friend of mine just recently came to canada with his wife from Ukraine and he explained to me it’s mandatory for the men to serve into their military service for at least 6 months.

NATO needs to fine Canada $9 billions a year for failure to contribute.

NATO should've been disbanded a long time ago.
