There are no audiences like a Japanese audience. No shouts, no shrieks, no whistles, no cheers to break the absolute silence. Most people become so uncomfortable with the absence of sound for even a few seconds. I think it was supposed to be a moment of silence/tribute that the audience was asked to do at that point. THen hearing the audience participation was fire! During the pandemic and Covid protocols, Japanese audiences were not able to talk, cheer, sing along during shows and concerts, and being Japanese, they respected the rules which made concerts seem as if the audience wasn't enjoying the shows. They could only applaud or clap. So happy that all of those rules have been removed.
