    Plus, concerts in Japan prohibits the use of phones, that’s why the audience only had their focus at the artists and their music.

    The silence it the beginning was a moment of silence for chester Bennington, Taka and chester were really good friends so this was for him...and he actually gives hand signs to the audience for when to come in if you pay attention you can catch it, it's quite amazing honestly.

    Guys, on June 4th, it's gonna be exactly one year since I saw them in Prague. Just yesterday, they announced a new world tour with only few stops. 3 EU stops in Germany, France and UK. I'm buying tickets tomorrow, hoping I'll get tickets for at least two of those countries. Pray for me, please! EDIT: I got tickets for UK & Germany! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THEM AGAIN😭

    I went to Tokyo Dome twice last year to see ONE OK ROCK for their Luxury Disease Tour and the one they had a special collaboration with another band MY FIRST STORY. It is a huge venue and even I was sitting really far away from the stage the view is astonishingly incredible. Their live concerts are just incredible, if you ever have a chance you HAVE TO see them on the stage with your own eyes.

    I got to see them live in Seattle 2017 for the first stop on the US leg of their World Ambitions tour (for this album). it was at this small 1000 person venue. It was only $24 and I couldn't believe it because I'd just moved back from Japan and knew very well how big they were. Nothing less than $200 for a sold out stadium show. I tried to convince friends to go with me, but no one knew who they were, so I ended up saying screw it and went by myself. It was absolutely incredible. Probably the best concert I've ever been to. They are so incredible live and the small venue meant I could even see the sweat beads on Taka's face. He sang Hard to Love, which I think was an album only release at the time, so I hadn't heard it before. He explained that it was about his relationship with his father. American audiences are definitely louder, but I remember holding my breath through parts of it and crying from the emotion in his voice. I think 'We Are' is another great live they have. But imo nothing beats that Take What You Want live. I heard it the first time in the background while at work. At that pause, I had to stop what I was doing to just watch the video instead.

He left home as a teenager and his parents divorced, etc. But I think he's said now he's in a good place and had made up with his parents. I think they all forgave each other for the past.

    @@TAHBofficial Since I was watching KZread late at night, it was hard for me to explain enough at that time. Excuse my lack of explanation. Well, when TAKA was a teenager, his parents divorced and he left home, splitting his family apart. His early song for example "Nobody's Home" (released in 2004) was well known as a song for his family, as he has stated. "Take What You Want" was released more than 10 years after their debut. At that time, he has already very good relationships with his parents, and he has never stated that the song was about his family. In addition, his character is not one who sings of anger that has passed all the time.

    Nobody should go at you for talking. Most people who react to this performance get really confused and get goosebumps. The recorded version of this song has a collaboration with 5sos. It is a bit upbeat. This song is about a break up/ devorce. This concert was in 2018 and before the song started, he asked the audience to give a moment of silence in honor of a friend musician who had passed. There was no name given but it was broadly assumed it was for Chester Bennington. Now I wasn't there but I've seen a lot of reactions and I love to read the comments. This came frome someone who attended the concert. Please don't come at me. If it was a moment of silence for Chester you can see the pain in his face. OOR and LP were good friends and were planning to tour together roughly at the time this concert happened. Either way, I have seen them live in the States, and the talent and crowd control that this band has its amazing. Once a fan is almost like, you know what needs to be done at the right times. They are epic. Thank you for reactions please react to more they are so versatile you never know what you will get. ❤❤❤

    Uh, I was at this concert and Taka never requested any moment of silence from the audience. Whoever you heard that from is misinformed and/or probably doesn't understand Japanese. The moment of silence is in no way a reference or tribute to Chester.

    Good reaction! This song explores the theme of a broken relationship and the consequences of a breakup. The lyrics reflect emotional turmoil and the need to overcome a toxic situation. Many fans speculate that it could be family problems he had regarding his parents' divorce, but this has never been confirmed. The song that does confirm that it is about Taka's family is Nobody's Home. I sincerely feel that in this case Taka, with the support of composer Colin Brittain wanted to give this song a broader meaning and is more for any type of broken relationship.

    BTW “One OkRock” is supposed to be pronounced “One Oak Rock” kind of like saying One O’Clock in a Japanese accent. I learned that after looking them up. Another thing I learned (apparently disputed information, so take with a grain of salt) was that this particular show was shortly after Taka’s (lead singer) very good friend Chester Bennington from Linkin Park had just passed away, and the emotions in Taka’s voice isn’t just because of the performance. They said he knew he could push the silence because the performance was in Japan and the audience would hold for him, so he could take the long moment of silence for Chester. *me absolutely sobbing alone in my living room*

  • @crosswithyou

    @crosswithyou

    Ай бұрын

    Taka pronounces the band's name as "one okay rock" outside Japan so it's absolutely OK (pun intended) to refer to them as "one okay rock." I personally think it's awkward when people speak English and try to pronounce the band name the Japanese way. It just doesn't flow well. Anyway, that thing about the moment of silence being a tribute to Chester is false. They've been doing that silence since before Chester even passed away. The tribute that they did do for him on tour was replace "Hard to Love" with a cover of "One More Light". I really wish this rumor would die out. It's been passed along in KZread comments but while it sounds nice, it is incorrect.

    hank you everyone for your wonderful expressions. I've heard many times that rock music was "born in America, grew up in England, and was perfected in Japan." The key chords used in Japanese rock songs are diverse. If possible, please listen to BAND-MAID, Love Bites, and many others. Especially listen to BAND-MAID's "HATE?". It's great live. The images from his one-man show of three and a half hours and 33 songs at the end of last year are the best.

    The song has something to do as well with his relationship with his parents, specially his dad. They didn't always see eye to eye although they both sing. He left home and fended or himself and proved to his dad that he had what it takes to make it. They're in god terms now, of course. 😁

    If you are looking for a live, I recommend « we are » 18fest version or from ambition tour.
