Looked like a good morning of wade fishing. It was very interesting seeing the different results of the two lures. I fish jerk shads a lot, and have noticed that switching between colors of the same brand makes only a small difference, but changing brands can be a huge difference due to different fall rate and action depending on density of material, shape, etc.
@TheFishingMommy5 жыл бұрын
What a great illustration of how much difference just a subtle change can make! If I had to guess what factors made the one lure more successful, I’d say it’s 1) weight, 2) appendages and 3) visibility of the chartreuse in that order.

I think a lot of predators can see ultraviolet light spectrum way better than we can. More and more lure companies are adding colors that are very good at reflecting uv light like chartreuse, pink, and white ect. I have noticed that those colors are very effective in most circumstances, the major exception being when fish are skittish and spooky. Those days you want to stay natural and subtle. You can go though your tackle box with a black light and group your lures based on their reaction to uv light. Then you can break out the uv flashy stuff when it's murky, overcast, and so on and use the natural and darker colors when the bite is light and the fish are spooked before you even get near them.

The Brazilian fishermen use artificial shrimp very similar to those of their video, only the technique that I noticed is a little different in the touches of rod and recoil of the line, are two touches longer and the recoil is made to remove the slack of the line and when you feel the shrimp touch the sand, it restarts the cycle with the two touches and recollection. And so the bait simulates the movement of a live shrimp. This technique takes several species, especially the Big Snook. Note: The rod is quick-action to better convey the stick-to-toe taps to the bait.

The 2 big differences between those shrimp were the one that was working had the bright tail and lots of tail wagging. With the increase in using soft plastics I've started doing for the past year in fresh and salt, I've seen how fish love the tail wagging, like a Berkley Havoc Bottom Hopper Jr vs the traditional Berkley Powerbait curly tail worm and paddle tails that have "dog-like" wagging vs the traditional ones. A large difference in color on the tail or a rear teaser on a hard jerkbait is an attractant. BTW- Bluefish are known to not fully react to the hook in their mouth until they see the person or vesel. Once you get them close enough, THEY RUN!

Great video🎣
I once got coin size piece of my palm taken out by a blue fish (we call them tailor in NSW Australia). Nasty fish! :)
Great place to fishing one of my favorite ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Another great video 🔥
Popped up in my "recommendeds" ----- For whatever reason, I hadn't "Liked" nor "commented" -------- But I was down to watching again!!! Be Safe
Do you wade in sand pockets or in straight sand
Hey lawson was that a vudu shrimp? The one with the chartreuse
What reel is that?
What color is the vudu shrimp?
Nice job bud got the variety platter. You forgot needlefish. They try to bite you every time
Do a video where you go bass fishing with saltwater baits, like use the shrimp instead of rubber worms, use gulp, bucktails, etc. Thatd be interesting to see what works well for both
What kind of paddle tail is that. Brand wise?
