One of the most Epic Driving Routes in Morocco.

Morocco has some of the most epic driving routes, in fact six that we have counted so far in our three trips to the country. And of course they say that recency has the most power, so this is therefore the best one we've driven. In this video we invite you to come on board with us as we travel this epic road 113km (67mile) route.
We did this route in our 7.5m motorhome and it was a breeze, mostly. There was a switchback section just after Igmir that was a bit of a squeaky bum moment, although with dexterity we managed to navigate it perfectly. And thankfully the roads were very quiet. I think we saw one donkey, one motorhome and a couple of taxis.
Around every corner the scenery changed and sometimes had us speechless, sometimes tearful other times full of expletives. And of course, as you might expect in Morocco, there was a stretch of road where we lost the content of our wardrobes, which we have come to expect driving here from time to time.
So if you are considering driving this epic route, in a van, motorhome or simply by car, then let us fill you with confidence about the route and how doable it is.

Hi Karen. Just watched the video. We attempted that drive in the same direction in 2016 but only got as far as the Igmir switchback after driving for about 3 hours on dry river bed/gravel all the way from the first village after the turn off from Icht. Unfortunately as there was no tarmac (or barriers) 3:22 on that bit back then, we made it up to the first switchback and couldn't get traction to turn so had to reverse down and turn back, another 3 hours on the same road back towards Icht😢 much improvement has been made since then. Enjoy Tafroute.

Wow, what an experience. Things really have changed. I think Our Tour had a similar experience, probably the same year. I hope you'd feel confident doing it again now you've seen the footage. Those switchbacks were a bit hairy though x
