    Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed the commentary! Some interesting notes: - This was played a few weeks ago during my break. So it's not RECENT as in the last few days. They played the same match-up at a more recent event. - *SPOILERS* At the more recent event Knee would win this match-up. This would lead to a pretty pointless Twitter "conversation" where people would accuse each other of "tier whoring", not being character loyalists etc. Also insinuating that JDCR would have a greater chance of winning should he play a higher tier character. I personally find it very enjoyable to watch character loyalists who stick to their guns and choose to overcome the weaknesses and match-ups their character may have. They very often succeed in doing this and show that effort into a character will pay off.. sometimes more than simply picking the momentarily perceived top tier. JDCR winning this match-up in this video shows that he has it in him to do so as he has demonstrated numerous times. - Knee has also explained that he sees nothing wrong in tier whoring as it's all about winning the events. This makes perfect sense and he cannot be faulted for trying to do all he can to give himself a perceived edge in a tournament setting.

    I know JDCR is not trying to make up an excuse but JDCR was very tired and jet lagged for that tourney. He has put a video in his channel on the same. For me JDCR is again in top notch form since he has started believing in AK. Can't wait to see more of AK

    The setups at that tournament were laggy af .. every player there noticed it .. and jdcr got the most affected by it due his style and Character Also, jdcr was tired and he wanted to take a nap 2 hours before the event starts.. but then they told him that event is starting 1 hour earlier so he didn't sleep All these things led to his defeat .. but mostly it was the laggy setups .. he was pumping through the event with no sleep but lag made it unplayable .. he had given up at some points and you can see it on his face and gameplay .. especially against Cuddlecore .. and the lag made it impossible to beat akuma which requires to jdcr to duck Akuma's 1,1 (yes he's capable of ducking it on reaction but he couldn't) he couldn't play anti akuma properly But he still in the end he made it third place

    Another Rage Drive? You mean "a replacing one", right? Because another one would throw AK's first Rage Drive out of the window. @@Eedorian You mentioned Steve's rage drive. But what about Lars rage drive he has 2 one to do mix-ups the other to do mix-ups/combos or oki. It's a few people that do Steve's old rage drive it's about fundamentals. Fakhumram has 2 rage drives so yea, it wouldn't necessarily throw Armor King's mist rage drive out the window it would give him potentially a (deadly mix-up opportunity) let's just say that.

    @@Eedorian Not necessarily. AK's CD4 (jumping knee) should become his second rage drive. Combine it with his current RD and both moves would be great for mixing up. Maybe It should deal slightly more damage (not full launcher, that would be too good) and zero on block or maybe even plus? (currently it's -9 so safe but you loose your turn).

    Gosh, how the heat of the battle escalates dramatically to the last battle, such a legendary battle. Also, TheMainMan is a great Tekken commentator even though he might have done some mistakes in the past but who doesnt make mistakes. Although the past cannot be erased, it is clear that he has changed, because I can see his unbiased, respectful and passionate commentary on every Tekken match he's sharing with us, even when Knee has made fun of him in the padst. I really believe that The MainMan has changed into a better person after learning from that mistake. I've been watching his videos for a long time and I believe time really proved that. I've decided to type this long ass comment because I almost felt like crying while watching this video, I guess this is why, and I hope the community forgives him from the bottom of their hearts just like me :) I was one of those people who got offended by Mainman when he made the emotional statement but if Mainman could change, so can I!

    Why doesnt JDCR mirror Knee's character choice? is that not allowed? Wouldn't the better player be determined if they both have the same moveset?

    JDCR's good, one of the best players in the world for sure. But, I just don't think he uses AK to his potential. He really just plays him like a mishima, not really an armor king. He has amazing punish and movement... but just no character mastery it all (in this case, throws). And it's very much the same for Knee. Knee is an amazing player, but vs a player who has a better character mastery, he just loses. (Like Knee vs Heera). To me, this game is just a game of who has the better fundamentals. Really wish both of them would master 1 character, rather than keep switching.

  • @bukquang

    But at Pro level throws are broken so consistently tho. JDCR still utilizes AK's move sets to his best potential with long reach & great pacing. Tho i agree its much more entertaining to see AK pulls out his swaggering tricks lol

  • @estoylaroca

    @estoylaroca

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@bukquang Only applies to characters with command throws and 1+2 throws. Characters like King/AK can have 50/50 throws with giant swing, shining wizard, chain throws etc. The only consistent way to "dodge" it is to duck. And that's primarily the reason why you do the throws, to get them to duck, so you hit them with the mids.
