Thank you for the kind comments, Koe! With tegards to my former work - each semester I was hired on a 6 month contract, and at the end of last year it wasn't renewed. Streaming had been successful for me (and paid more than my job) so I decided to commit to it full time :)

She is a Contractor Professor. A professor for hire xD. She is actually great, I usually watch her streams because she plays games outside the Norm and Intune with her profession. I think she is into Medieval History.

There are 2 JP Vtubers that do astronomy classes, and usually do watchalongs of rocket launches explaining every part of the launch

Too bad Holo can't do history lessons because(according to sana when ahe wanted to make a history of the space race stream) "you can't mention anything political" like bruh.

The coolest thing about this is she has freedom over what and how she teaches now. A lot of teachers are forced to strict curriculums so there's no room for creativity or anything to make it engaging for the students. I hope there will be more vtubers like her if there aren't already

Same With Peaches or Dreams of Peaches if know her by her asmr content. If I remember right she was a elementary school teacher... might be wrong but she did teach kids if I remember correctly.

Vtuber as Medium now is surely going widely than we used to know back then. We got Actual Parents/Single Parent that became vtuber and once a whilw they streamed with their kids in the background, Actual Teacher/Historians with very good educational background and some talented people behind that Avatar. My only wish that this kind of people is way more recognized than just muddy, clickbaiting attention and only thinking fame for his own gain by any means necessary.

Basically cost cutting - the university decided to pay someone cheaper to do the same job (but likely not to the same level of quality)

Teaching is an up or out job. At lower levels (primary and secondary) its fairly common for younger teachers to be fired every year and have to re apply for the next year. At higher levels they have this fun thing called tenure (technically that also happens at lower levels but its more of a union thing that has the same name) which means that if you stick around for a certain amount of time you automatically become unfireable and have to be given a high ranking position. And there's obviously a limited amount of space, so its very common for the majority of perfectly capable and reasonable staff to lose their job a couple times before they can get a tenured position. Universities with something like a 'best young teacher' award often treat that as a kiss of death; there's simply no way for anyone young enough to get that award to have been able to build up enough of a profile to get tenure so its basically saying that they're the best of the ones getting fired that year.
