Impressive case. I just built my PC in it. Enough space for an XFX Speedster Merc319 7800 XT and the DeepCool LT720. I can confirm that it is difficult to access those pins when the AIO is installed, but its doable. I think this is a great case for those, who don't want to be limited by the case in any way and don't want to spend an arm and a leg for a quality case. I built my last PC before this over 15 years ago, and the case was quite simple. During this built I was fascinated how far PC cases have come over the years. Needless to say, that I strongly recommend this case.

I recently bought this case, the version without RGB, and for those who don't know as I didn't know, the version without RGB comes without the Lian Li hub. Information that is not given on the website or manual. The front fans use 0.5A (I believe 100%) and, to move the front panel to the side, if in doubt, read the manual, it will help you change it easily. I bought the Arctic pwm hub to control the fans, as it uses a SATA cable and is magnetic.

i've heard good things about Lian Li cases over the years and kept on my buying whatever was out there. MY first tower was Lian Li Lan Cool 205 and loved it. Last week on the store shelves was Lan Cool 216 RGB version and I pulled the trigger. I'm very impressed with it's build quality and spaciousness. Actually is the biggest mid tower case i've ever owned. I do want to get the RGB panel and some Lian Li RGB fans for my air build. Thanks for the great review RobeyTech!

Not true on the AIO. you can take the top plate off with the radiator mounted to allow for cable connections. I have this case and running 2x 140mm fans at the bottom with 7700x and 7900 XTX. I have my fan curves all set to max 1000RPM and barely get CPU or GPU over 50*c

The Top comes off You can easily assemble the top aio radiator on a table and then slot it into the case - no issues with space or eps connectors

I was looking for something to replace my Define R6. They aren't making many cases these days that give you an option to install the largest air coolers or radiators like the R6 can accommodate. There were certain things about the R6 that bugged me, such as no PSU accessibility from the window side or not enough top clearance at the top for radiators. The Lancool 216 case eliminated those things that bugged me with the R6 and can accommodate an NH-D15, 360 AIO at the top or the front and with my RTX 4080 installed. Even the other Lian Li cases can't accommodate an NH-D15 or RTX 4080 or 4090. The O11 XL can't even hold a Strix or Tuf 4080 or 4090 without having to leave the side panel off to accommodate the 12HVPWR power adapter. That was short-sighted. They could have made those O11 cases an 2-5cm wider and they would fit anything air or GPU and I would have spent an additional $100-150, but they didn't. The Lancool 216 can accommodate any piece of hardware I've ever owned. It's not built like an old-style case that can accommodate 12 HDDs like an R6. You can basically take the whole thing apart down to its skeleton for easy installation of all components and easy cable management. It is well built, includes good quality hardware (you don't usually find in a cheaper case) and includes decent quiet fans that don't need to be replaced unless you need something to match your other bling. Air flow is great with this case so the fans stay fairly quiet during any regular use. It definitely takes the next step in case design and you can get it for $100-ish.

I have this exact case. I have the optional RGB control/IO option installed in the lower front next to the fan. The vertical riser cable mount arrived today so I'll be putting that in this weekend. I'm using a deepcool AK620 air cooler and have added 1 - 120mm deepcool exhaust fan in the rear of the case just above the rear exhaust fan. This case has really good airflow.

Pro tip, set the fan curve on the front 160mm fans to not exceed 60%..after that it gets very audible and will vibrate your desk.

What is the temperature difference with the OEM front dust filter on?

i just built my pc in it with a 7800x3d and a 4070ti love the case coming from my old nzxt s340 case my only complaint is that it's the fans are pretty loud but once i set my fan curve i was all set

I prefer black cases but do wish reviewers would use the white one for videos since they are so much easier to see into.

Wow not sure why you missed that your able to remove the top part of the case. For easy mounting of the AIO and the motherboard connections. LOL!!!!

Question to the author of the video: Connector USB Type C, it is Gen1 or Gen 2, i.e. its speed 5 or 10 gb/sec ?

I'm really hyped about *both* the Lian Li Lancool 216 AND the Phanteks ECLIPSE G500A, and I can't decide which one I like the most. I'm not a fan of lots of RGB 'bling,' so I'd go with either the 'X' variant of the Lanool 216, or the fanless G500A (I know it has the pair of RGB strips but they look a lot better to me than that white 'cyclops' front panel strip on the 'performance' variant). I just hope one or the other of them is still available when I'm done saving my pennies for my build! 😆😆😆

I just got this case and didn't think about what cooling option I'm going with, will this thing fit a ARCTIC liquid freezer II 360 on the top? On the size sheet of the AIO it says the radiator is 397.5mm. Just wondering if that will conflict with anything, or if I should look at another cooler? Other companies coolers are also bigger than the advertised 240-280-320, so I think it's fine, but I figured I'd ask in case anyone knew for sure.

One con. It has pretty loud stock fans. But you could fix it no problem with proper bios fan settings

Does the Corsair RM850x or RM1000X Shift have ample room for the psu cables?

Are the front fans loud? Curious about the sound and how noisy this case is?

The fans are very quiet. Large 160mms in the front and a 140 in the back. Larger fans are generally quieter. They move a ton of air. This is a great case.

Can you get a matching RGB fan at the rear?

How can I control case fan rgb without the attached manual controller sent separately ?

the limitation of the top AIO thickness could be a problem and the front AIO is it doable with 160mm fans

Not unless you can find a 320mm radiator. Otherwise, you won't have anything on which to mount the radiator. The front fans are mounted on freestanding adjustable width brackets.

What about putting in a XL-ATX mobo into it?. Edit.. Yes it fits a XL-ATX in there without any issues at all.

I'm on the fence between this case and the Lancool 3. I like aspects from both cases.

I'm about to buy this case. I'm just hoping the 280mm AIO can fit good vertically with my 3080. Or else I'll try the horizontal way above with 2 extra fans attached.

Your 280 will fit fine on the front. It fits a 392mm GPU.

It come with a dust filter for the PSU and you can buy (separately) a dust filter for the front (it does not come with one) from Lian li or Newegg

I have a question about the case. I just bought it and it came with one separate carboard box but when I watched jays two cents it’s came with 2 boxes. Did they change this or is it a defective unit?

The second box is probably the extra fan control module for the lower left of the case. I get my case next week and purchased RGB Case/w Controller. Hopefully I get what is expected.

i'm a total n00b if i put an aio 360mm in the front does that replace the fans in the front or can you have both aio and the fans that come with it? is that recommended?

For this one no you cannot use the front fans because of their size so you would need to replace them

Yes but can it handle a 4090

My only issue is what if one of the fans go out on the front. It is such an odd size, that no one makes them except for this case.

8:28 it’s not sub $100. It’s $110 for the RGB version. $100 for non-RGB. Regardless it’s still a great value and for me it’s between this and the fractal focus 2 which can be found for around $50-60 on sale pretty often

What does the case look like with 3 120mm fans in front?

I think the 200 mm fans are cooler on the Lancool 215 personally.

I like this case, but didn’t buy in my recent build because I keep my computers for a while and was worried in a few years I wouldn’t find replacementfront fans.

raise it off the ground, sweep and vacuum your space and occasionally clean your pc it's not that hard

Would have been smart on Corsair to have the option to swap the 160 front fans to the top. Picture using a 360 front AIO intake with two 140 fans on bottom intake and run those 160 fans on top and a 140 rear fan for exhaust. Thing would be a wind tunnel! Basically if you go front rad the front fans are spare parts.

I absolutely hate the wider cases, so the first lian li case I saw was remarkably unimpressive imo, just a rip off of a corsair case. But this one looks really good?
