ONE OF ONE: Amy Winehouse Was On Her Way! Stunted Growth Music

Seeing Amy Winehouse’s final on stage performance gave me a picture of what it must feel like to reach the level you’re one of the biggest artist in the world. Everyone around you wanting something from you and not caring about the state you’re in. Like addicts, they just want their fix of you in anyway and as much of it as possible, until next time. The same crowd that clapped her on and sang her song with her, even though she’s clearly out of it and off beat, was the same crowd that booed her if ever she stopped singing and simply wanted to have an intimate conversation, shut up and sing. She threw the mic in the audience and what does her handlers do, throw another mic in her face and encourages her to keep going. After all this is how we make ends meat. If you don’t sing, as drunk or high as you are, we don’t eat as much as we’d like. Amy Winehouse was, a singer considered THE best of her generation, a musician that sold over 14 million copies of your second album, going diamond, which only 22 artist in the history of music have done. She was truly a One of One Talent and on her way to being one of the biggest artist of all time until these things happened. R.I.P Sour.

Nah there’s no “doubt” in it. Amy Winehouse will always be known as the superior version of Adele. Have you not seen any of her live performances from her Frank era? Adele when she sings live is ok. She sounds like her studio version with an occasional riff or two there. Amy Winehouse was a BEAST live and never sung her song the same way twice…ever. The amount of vocal agility and jazz sensibility was staggering. Adele Is just a woman who can sing good with a sprinkle of soul. Amy’s voice was unique and god given. It’s like she devoured the blues itself. Not to mention she was a fucking poet and genius. Even prince said this aswell as Chaka Khan and other legends. When someone compared Amy to Adele Chaka was pissed off 😂

I love Amy Whinehouse her music helped me thru an extreme dark time in my life, only celeb I ever cried about when they passed away. I honestly wish that she could have gotten the help she needed because her music could have gone so far. She needed a break so she could fight those demons, as well she definitely didn't have the best people around her. That deep, soulful sound out of that little body (even though she had weight on her until she got wrapped up in it), I still listen to her music but it's bitter sweet now.

Amy Winehouse was one of a kind, once in a generation type of musician. I had the opportunity to listen to her music while she was alive. She was gone too soon as she died at the same age as Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix. I love her deep, soulful voice. Also, what hurt her the most was she didn’t have the right people around her. If she had the right people around her, she would still be alive.

Before I get into the video, I wish to share my experience. . The drama and the presence overshadowed her music for me (except for the Rehab track which was okay) and I didn't pick up her music until I heard her feature on Nas' album. . This was years after she died, I tried Frank and loved it, then I tried Back to Black and I ADORE IT! . I kept cursing myself to this very day because I recognized her jazz old-soul influences and fell in love with that through her music, plus that sassy attitude she was penning down in her tracks gives me such chuckles. . I tell people that I listen to Amy Winehouse and they share the same reaction: "you mean the crazy one, or the one who died young, or so-and-so", and I say yes because she's the one of the best songwriters and singers that stuck to her roots and we did not deserve her music. . Rest in Power to Amy, Love can be a Losing Game. . .

I remember that stage performance where Amy was out of her mind, and no one went to help her.. I was angry, and heart broken how her people just let this mess happen.. Amy had so much more to put out, just like Brad Nowell of Sublime, but was also taken away/doomed by self-demons to addiction. Cant lie, I was hit by memories of how much i missed Amy.. Thank You for this Great fantastic video.

I remember why she couldn’t come to the United States to go to the Grammy Awards. She couldn’t go because there was a video of her smoking crack cocaine. One of the people that knew her had given the video to the tabloids. And the video was shared around the world. So as a result of that, the United States just decided not to let her come back
