One of my last ever rides on my horse
One of my last ever rides on my horse! Having not ridden my pregnant horse for 2 months I needed to check her out for a demo I will be riding her at in a weeks time “14th October in Blackpool” . Hormonal changes can sometimes make for a surprisingly different ride prior to being in Foal 😆. I’ve no idea what to expect so here goes . ( note we had the all clear to ride Nita after a vet check ) steve-young-horsemanship.mysh...

What I saw here was two dear partners working together, each enjoying time with the other. Each knowing their place, communicating well, and just having fun. Utterly lovely.

my Arabian mare was amazing when bought and only green broke..she was 3 yrs old...I was 8 yrs old...next year she was at a school festival giving rides....in time a top speed horse(I trained her) as well as trail horse.....went any where all day on long days... she was worked with EVERY day .,,some type of hands on or training for riding..she was borrowed by a sheriff deputy to work crowds and search...plus he hunted from her too..,,my mare I said good bye when she was 29 yrs old ...injury ..got out of pasture...kids pushed fence down....that injury made me have to say goodbye...til I am with her again

@@goldenmare2594 So sorry that you lost her in such a bad way💔
"Life goals"! Even at 65(me)! Lol! Nita is the perfect reflection of your lifelong study, and understanding, of equine behavior, and the perfection of your techniques, in training horses. I'm awestruck every time I watch you work with a horse. ❤

What a lovely thing to say🌻🌻🌻
Wow I have to admit I cried!! What a lovely horse 🐎 Nita is!! Congratulations Nita ❤️🐎
What a wonderful testament to your horsemanship skills Anita is. How excited must you be to see how the foal turns out and what a birthday present. Mum and Dad are both glorious. Never knew that about pregnant mares - I’ve learnt something. I was never livelier when pregnant, just moody!
You have given Nita a wonderful gift. Her work is not over but changed. Don’t know if she’s been a mama before whatever she will find fulfilment in her new role. Sooo excited, bet you all can’t wait 🐴💕💕💕💕💕 Love from Swansea 🤠
Nita is a Testament to your horsemanship. She looked really happy. Sometimes at demos she has that look in her eye that says, I’ll do it but I’m putting up with it a bit. But, in this, her eyes were saying I’m loving this. She’s missed you, Steve. My fingers are crossed (along with my eyes - too many cocktails) that all goes well for her pregnancy. The stallion daddy is beautiful. Give Nita a cuddle from all your supporters. She really deserves it. And so do you.
This was a thing of Beauty. This is how you ride a horse. Good Girl Nita 😊💕💕
Everything you need to know about horsemanship is on a NITA know basis!!! What a complete and utter joy to watch her move, whilst at the same time, making a new baby foal…. Bless her and keep mother and baby safe. God Bless and you Steve. Thank goodness you found each other.
Nita is such an amazing horse! You're pretty good too Steve. 😄 Can't wait to see her foal!
We are in Cordoba Spain and watched the Royal Andalusian Equestrian Show last night, a rider and Andalusian team demonstrating the pole riding techniques really demonstrated how riding from the seat for tempo, direction, flexion is accomplished with minimum effort. And your demostration really dovetails and matches these riding techniques. Bravo. 😊
Priceless. Shes going to have a wonderful foal! So glad you bred her.

She's a perfect horse ! Can't wait to see that baby !! Please keep us informed thru her pregnancy . I❤
Wonderful to watch! Love the no bridle demonstration. She is poetry in motion. The result of your years and years of training. ❤
Nita is a queen. I sure hope you keep anything that comes out of her! Hoping this one is a filly. ❤
How awesome Steve I hope she has the little guy on your Birthday what a present hopefully!! Congrats!! I love what your doing Steve……..
Nita has such a gorgeous engaged jog. What a nice reach from behind with strength and grace.
Nita is such a beautiful representation of what we can all accomplish if we learn how to do better by horses. I have been around horses all my life and I truly WANT to do better. Thank you Steve for all you have taught us and continue to teach us.
She is such a lovely mare. So athletic and soft. You've done a great job with her. She's going to have a nice baby for sure.
Thanks Steve and Tanya...that was beautiful to watch. I've only ridden a horse twice in my life so this is just AMAZING to me. Hope all goes well with her pregnacy amd birthing❤ 🇨🇦Sharon.
Poor Anita, she is a true angel. Very smart, and a mom in a few months. What a treasure.
Beautiful - I could watch this all day x
Brought a tear to my eye, memories of my first horse when I was a kid. She was the best-ever, fearless in traffic, unbothered by noise, and I could ride her with no tack at all (not something I'd ever recommend, and did only in her pasture). I had no training but she was patient and smarter about it all than I was.
Lovely to think of Nita being a Mum! I am sure she will be just as great a Mum as she is in the demos. I hope her injury continues to improve. It will be interesting to see the foal she produces! looking forward to it.😜
Nita will be a great mum, and I’m sure she will throw a beautiful foal. Continue her bloodline. I’m sure you will miss the very special relationship you have with her. Better to keep her more or less sound.
I just love watching you and Nita. It looks like you read each other's minds. She is such a beautiful horse and so smart. I know that you can probably train another horse to be just as impressive, but there will only ever be one Nita. I'm looking forward to seeing the little one when it's time.
She is such a beautiful horse.
She is lovely a true soul animal her baby is a blessing to the farm
Wow, congratulations! But also bittersweet.
That was lovely to watch, thank you Tanya and Steve and Nita! 🤎👍🏼🤎🍯🤎🎶🤎😇
Heart emoji. She's lovely and I'm sure Nita will make a perfect mother.
Awwww! She will be a great mommy! ❤️🇨🇦
That's a great horse!
Beautiful, great privilege to see this incredible bond. Thankyou for sharing .
Congratulations for a new foal.
Aw Nita you and Steve are just magic together. Wonderful video as always thanks Steve and Tania love from sunny New Zealand. ❤🐎❤
Bittersweet but a wonderful new beginning for Nita!!! Congratulations Nita!!! 🎉
She’s a lovely mare and has served you well … and in turn you’ve taken good care of her too. She might even give you a couple of foals … and she’s not too old for that … he’s a good looking stud! I can see you planned well ahead to get a replacement (or two) before she retired … and they’ll both do fine as well. Hope you both enjoy your vacation next week (or this week 😊)! Happy Trails! 🙏🙌❤️🐎🐴
Having a Nita baby must be so exciting, dad looks a beast in a good way 😊
Absolutely amazing-what a horse what horsemanship👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌍🇿🇦
Amazing team! 😍 And can‘t wait to see Nita being a mama to a little foal! 🥰 (This time Tanya was so hard to hear! I love to hear her what she says… 🥺)
Wow! Nita is a fantastic Horse - Happy Motherhood sweetheart 🐎💕
I’d be interested in hearing the science behind the spurring with each stride.
I could almost hear the little tear in your voice during your next to last ride on beautiful Nita 😢 🐎 Best wishes for an uneventful foaling and lovely baby for you, Steve.
Isn’t twenty years old a little late to breed. Has she ever foaled before? Hoping the best for her. Good luck. Thank you for sharing.🐴
Aww congratulations Nita ❤🐎❤🇬🇧
Just pure perfection. Cant wait for her to be a Mummy.
Wow. If I was trained to ride a horse as wonderful as Nita, I'd want to ride her as often as she was able. I miss riding especially now that I have the property for it. Chevy has some big hoofs to fill. Best of luck to Nita. She'll be a great mom. Thanks so much for sharing your time & talents. Blessings on you all.
It is awesome to have a friend like that . Believe me I know . So glad for you . 💯❤️😊
Such a bond of love. I doesn't get any better.
Another great video by you three! The stud is gorgeous...a great combo with him and Nita! ❤❤
I know nothing about horses..,but after coming across your channel I am spellbound!
You can see Nita likes to work with you. Standing to be saddled she looked sad ears back a bit. Most of the riding you were doing she had and interest in what you were communicating to her and so willing. You two are great buddies!
I’m still absolutely mind blown after seeing this IRL yesterday. Made me super emotional actually. Just beautiful to see, in a horsey world that seems to be full of gadgets these days. My non horsey husband has just watched and was even more blown away (having attempted to lead my mare to the arena with me leading foal last week. I think he’s still traumatised 🤣)
Wonderful to watch, what an awesome partnership. Thank you Steve and Nita. See you at Blackpool.
Congratulations! I love her you have trained her so well she's amazing. ❤
I've never heard Steve talk about why he is banging on her sides while she walks. I know he's gentle, but why constantly and why spurs? Seems needless.
Nita is a star!!! What a darlin' girl.
What a testament Anita is to your training. What an absolutely fabulous horse. Here’s to many happy years to come with her. Can’t wait to see her foal.
Good news! Hurrah! All the best for next summer!!
She is so wonderful = loved watching this
And now you have this beautiful video about your last right on Nita.
Why are you wearing spurs with Nita?
Wonderful news for you all. Congrats and hello from seattle.
Wow, loved this Steve what a little beauty Nita is. Thank you. 😊
She's so lovely Nita ❤ 🥕
Steve, you’re breeding her at 20 - and her first? I’m kind of surprised. Hope all will be ok.
Exciting but I wouldn’t be comfortable breeding a 20 year old mare.
❤❤❤, she is incredible!!!
So excited to see Nita in her new role and wondering if I can teach my warmblood to respond like that without reins...beautiful to watch thank you
Nita is such a lovely horse. An absolute sweetheart. I'm curious: Are you wearing spurs?
He walks his talk. Nothing is hid and just pure partnership between man and horse. It was a pleasure to watch Steve and Nita.
You two are magic❤❤
Love you guys and love your videos ❤
So good to see you actually ride, what a lovely horse ❤
Beautiful to watch ❤
Congrats 🎉
Wishing Nita a happy pregnancy💖
Just absolutely Lovely
Thank you for sharing this with us💟
Thank you so much for sharing your life with all of us .
Lovely sympathetic ride, Steve! Thanks for the excellent demo. This is how I was trained to ride in a French Cavalry School in Metz, France in the mid-1950s. This way of riding produced happy horses that were light and manageable - with and without tack. They also lasted a long time because they could move fluently under a rider and were never forced into a movement that they were not ready for. Your lovely mare is an excellent example of 'the well-trained horse' and looks as if she would be as comfortable under a cavalry saddle, a 'western' saddle, or in an 'English Saddle', hunt saddle, racing pad, or 'bare-back'. It is demos like this that show that you should ride the horse, not its tack! It is also lovely to see your dear old mare working just as well with or without a bit in her mouth. Her collection is the perfectly natural type and looks as great on a Quarter Horse as it would on a massive Warm-blood. In France, our lesson 'ponies' were usually Arabs or Barbs that had been foaled in North Africa and then briefly ridden in the paddock and on the open desert by the young boys of the area. When the horses were about three years old they were sent to sales in the south of France where they were bought by dealers, cavalry schools, etc. They were very easy to train as long as you remembered that they had never carried a bit in their mouths as the boys who rode them used only a soft rope around their horse's neck. Hope your lovely mare has no difficulties with her pregnancy or the birth of her first foal. It would be wonderful for you to have another 'Nita' to train and ride in the future. Thanks for demonstrating this kind of riding as I know that there are many people world-wide that have no idea of how to achieve these results - and so many horses would have happier lives if they did!
Nita is a wonderful girl! ❤
So beautifully perfect. I can't wait to see her baby. Nita will be an awesome mom. Thank you for sharing how smart and well trained Nita is. Such a perfect horse. God Bless🙏❤️🤗

Seeing is believing. Watching you work with Nita is 100% learning! I can thoroughly believe it would take 20 years she is so soft and yeilding to you. A delight to watch! Wishing her all the best with being a Mum. She's going to be a great mommy for sure!
