One Of Every Porsche Road Car In One Place! | Secret Stash
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Porsche proudly tries to keep one example of every car its ever built, be it for the road or race track. But while a smattering of these vehicles are on display in the Porsche Museum, the rest of them reside at a very special warehouse nearby.
We reckon, like us, you want to see inside this warehouse of wonders, right?
In the first of a three-part series, Top Gear Magazine’s Tom Ford has been over to Germany to spend two days wandering among this priceless collection of Porsches.
To kick things off, episode one focuses on the road cars…

Which Porsche road car would you choose from this collection?

It has to be the 911 GT1.. or even the Carrera GT.. decisions decisions lol

If I had to choose between a Carerra GT or one of those Lamborghini one of one, or a Ferrari or Koenigsegg or Bugatti, I'd still take the Carrera GT.

Well, one that actually works so I could drive it. All those rubber bits and gaskets that have surely perished by now. Many would need complete rebuilds. So keep it simpler, a 911 perhaps, where parts are actually available.

My friend’s Dad had a 944 turbo back in the early 90’s. He would actually let us take it for a drive occasionally. Loved it. Great memories.
I visited the Porsche museum in Zuffenhausen last month... these cars... they are something special, each one of them... and being able to see them side by side, it is a great way to spend a day for a car enthusiast :)

I also was lucky to visit the museum 2 years ago with my dad. Together on a roadtrip with his '85 911 3.2 Targa, I will cherish that memory forever gazing together at all the unique models on display in that great piece of architectural masterpiece of a building! Must go for every Porsche fan ❤
did they forget the 944 ...

yes, it's a shame they weren't shown.
I want to like it, but for Top Gear, poorly done. No 924/944/968. The 914, cayenne and Carerra GT history was not correct. Carrera GT was a Formula 1 project and Porsche backed out to get the $ to make the cayenne. No 917, no 550 spider etc…

Agreed. Video was good because of the Porsches. Script and presentation was disappointing. How many times was something described as “very pretty” and commentary made no sense. “I’m sure it was very fun. Even back then” yeah ofc a Porsche was fun back then. The cars are the culmination of art and science and the history of such rare pieces are not given the respect of presentation deserved tbh
What a beautiful car collection. Thank you Porsche.

Let me live in there, Porsche. All I need is a cot.
All the great transaxle cars in the thumbnail and they barely get a passing mention. Meanwhile the SUV's get more screen time. Really?
Thanks for blowing my mind. What a collection. I 👍 within the first couple seconds.

What a great video Top Gear, as a modern Porsche lover, I love the feel of how important Porsche has been in the history of the car world 🧐❤️
Just a phenomenal place to visit. I would probably spend an hour just ogling the 959. It was on my wall as a teenager and I still find it mesmerizing.
Awesome "whistlestop tour" of the Porsche archives 😎!

How can you possibly leave out the Boxster which saved the company before the Cayenne came along to multiply the profits. Terrible slight.

Porsche 930 Turbo Flachbau is a beast of a car, seen a gentleman rev that thing and the front wheels lifted off the ground, and that's the day I became a porsche fan🍰 8:13
Love the editing
Doug Demuro did a video on his Carrera GT and said no one drives them correct and that is why everyone stalls. He says you have to fully let the clutch out in first with no throttle, then press the throttle. It’s not a normal clutch system supposedly.
@lairdinho
Ай бұрын
Has an anti-stall system. Hardly a secret that Demuro revealed. It's what everybody goes on about all the time. It's just everyone for some reason presents it as some super secret something they've discovered. hard to imagine anyone with access to a CGT at this point isn't well aware.

As I stated on a previous comment, I owned a Carrera GT back in 2004/5 and I never had any issue driving it, let alone stalling it... I found it easy to drive even under normal circumstances ie in traffic... Those who did stall it obviously had no idea how to drive properly...

Beautifully made video and information about Porsche.
Ah, the 914, my favorite Porsche!
I wonder what the odometer readings are on these cars. Did they arrive directly from the factory or were some older cars.
So cool. I visited the museum last september and saw many of these. I'm guessing this warehouse is just opposite of the museum, so they dont have to transport them a lot + they have the Museum tag on the license plate.
I'll be visiting that place in september!!!
please keep the electric ones somewhere fireproof and away from the rest of the collection!

Thank you for the journey into the wonderfull Porsche world :)
the boxster is arguably THE most important car of the modern era and saved the company.. they must have one of the early cars there! should at least have shown it. I hate the snobbery shown towards that car by so-called experts.

great video!
how did you miss the Boxster, not the best car ever, but the one that saved the company from financial ruin, and then the Cayenne.
Porsche panamera: Am i a joke to you?
This was very nice
Porsche is in my opinion the only German car brand that seems to be consistent in the design language. They seem to do it in sequential steps to ever improve their looks, unlike BMW.
Great overview! Did I miss The 964 , 993 , and first Water-Cooled 996 ???
Amazing ❤
I used to Love the 928 and the 944 more than the 911 body style. I couldn't see the attraction to the 911, but my opinion has changed recently when it comes to the newer versions of the 911 Porsche!

Where can i find the full complete list of every porsche model ever ? (every single version and variant and special editions of every single car)
GT1 was to supercars what Group B was to rallycars. They were pretty much road legal Group C cars. The first true hypercars. Big names were Ferrari F 40, Jaguar XJ 220, McLaren F1, and in this case Porsche 911 GT1.
Is this at the Stuttgart factory?
Slight miss - the 959 was for the stillborn Group B Racing Series, not WRC. As was Ferrari 288 GTO for example. Hence completely different beasts to the glassfibre/kevlar monsters 205T16, Delta S4, RS200 etc.
Yes I want to go there, where ever it is...
Where is tiger?! I was waiting whole video for that!
959S... Hands down
If I can afford it, I would bring all these cars to me right now
somewhat a fun watch, perhaps talk about the designers, sculptors, and engineers. which i could do for you, as you're just blathering on a museum tour.
I’m sure there should have been a Boxster or two in there.
Anyone who drove turbocharged cars in the late 70s or early 80s know that lag measured in multiple seconds is a bit of a myth - it was a question of driving differently. Nice video though, the museum is excellent.
